Rawalpindi:24 April:The Federation of All Pakistan Universities Academic Staff Association has raised concerns over the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan’s new research policies. A statement issued by FAPUASA reads that if the HEC tried to implement its decisions regarding research journals without consultation with stakeholders, the FAPUASA would boycott all HEC policies and will resist with full zeal.

Rawalpindi:14 February: Dr. Saima Hamid, Vice Chancellor, Fatima Jinnah Women University, inaugurated the digital telephone exchange at the campus here on Thursday. The inaugurated telephone exchange is the first of its kind in any Public Sector Pakistani university with Primary Rate Interference (PRI) and Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) facilities. It is the vision of the Vice Chancellor, Dr. Saima Hamid to digitise the FJWU Campus and equipped it with the latest technologies to bring it at par with international standards.

In order to achieve full and equal access to and participation in science for women and girls, and further achieve gender equality and the empowerment of women and girls, the United Nations General Assembly adopted resolution A/RES/70/212 declaring 11 February as the International Day of Women and Girls in Science.

Rawalpindi :31 January: A total of 4,442 graduates’ of Pir Mehr Ali Shah Arid Agriculture University Rawalpindi (PMAS-AAUR) were awarded degrees while 90 students were decorated with Medals at the 20th Convocation, here on Thursday. As many as 33 students received PhD degrees, 710 awarded with MPhil/ MS degrees, 1,469 Masters Degrees, while 2,230 students got undergraduate degree in their respective disciplines. Gold medals were awarded to 55 students on their outstanding performance in their academic record while 17 bagged silver and 18 secured bronze in the convocation.

The National workshop was organised by PMAS-AAUR in collaboration with Nuclear Institute for Agriculture and Biology (NIAB), Faisalabad and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).

Rawalpindi :20 December: Pir Mehr Ali Shah Arid Agriculture University Rawalpindi (PMAS-AAUR) and Shihezi University of China (SUC) signed a Memorandum of understanding (MoU) to extend the scientific cooperation between both universities, here on Thursday. Syndicate members took important decisions during the meeting under the chair of Dr Yasmeen Rashid. On the recommendations of selection board approval was granted for appointment of officers and doctors from grade 16 to grade 20 during syndicate meeting.
