FAPUASA raises concerns over HEC’s new policy for research journals

Rawalpindi:24 April:The Federation of All Pakistan Universities Academic Staff Association has raised concerns over the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan’s new research policies. A statement issued by FAPUASA reads that if the HEC tried to implement its decisions regarding research journals without consultation with stakeholders, the FAPUASA would boycott all HEC policies and will resist with full zeal.

Prize distribution ceremony at FG Postgraduate College

Rawalpindi :29 February: To commend the consistent efforts of students who excelled in academic and co-curricular activities during the year 2019-2020, the Annual prize distribution of FG Postgraduate College for women, Kashmir Road Rawalpindi was held in Salma Masud Auditorium here on Thursday. Dr. SM Junaid Zaidi Executive Director, Founder Rector COMSATS was the honourable chief guest on this occasion. The ceremony started with the recitation of the Quranic verses by Hafsa Muddassar. Beenish Mustafa presented Naat-e- Rasool-e- Maqbool (SAW). College Anthem was displayed on multi media.

Telephone exchange opens at Fatima Jinnah Women University

Rawalpindi:14 February: Dr. Saima Ha­mid, Vice Chancellor, Fatima Jinnah Women University, inaugurated the digital telephone exchange at the campus here on Thursday. The inaugurated telephone exchange is the first of its kind in any Public Sector Pakistani university with Primary Rate Interference (PRI) and Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) facilities. It is the vision of the Vice Chancellor, Dr. Saima Hamid to digitise the FJWU Campus and equipped it with the latest technologies to bring it at par with international standards.

FJW University International Day of Girls in Science celebrated

Rawalpindi :12 February: Fatima Jinnah Women University (FJWU) organised different activities to mark the ‘International Day of Women and Girls in Science’ here on Tuesday in the University's premises. In order to achieve full and equal access to and participation in science for women and girls, and further achieve gender equality and the empowerment of women and girls, the United Nations General Assembly adopted resolution A/RES/70/212 declaring 11 February as the International Day of Women and Girls in Science.

90 graduates decorated with medals in Rawalpindi University

Rawalpindi :31 January: A total of 4,442 graduates’ of Pir Mehr Ali Shah Arid Agriculture University Rawalpindi (PMAS-AAUR) were awarded degrees while 90 students were decorated with Medals at the 20th Convocation, here on Thursday. As many as 33 students received PhD degrees, 710 awarded with MPhil/ MS degrees, 1,469 Masters Degrees, while 2,230 students got undergraduate degree in their respective disciplines. Gold medals were awarded to 55 students on their outstanding performance in their academic record while 17 bagged silver and 18 secured bronze in the convocation.

Fatima Jinnah Women University workshop on ‘Publication in Impact Factor’

Rawalpindi :30 January: Department of Behavioral Sciences of Fatima Jinnah Women University in alliance with University of Sheffield, United Kingdom and ORIC (FJWU) as collaborating agent has organised workshop on ‘Publication in Impact Factor.’ Resource person of the workshop was Dr. Parveen Ali, Lecturer & Program Lead Nursing Studies School of Health Sciences, University of Sheffield, UK.

Rawalpindi:26 January: The five days training workshop on ‘The role of isotopic and related techniques in measuring greenhouse gas emissions from Agriculture and identifying their sources’ ended at Pir Mehr Ali Shah Arid Agriculture University Rawalpindi (PMAS-AAUR), here on Friday. The National workshop was organised by PMAS-AAUR in collaboration with Nuclear Institute for Agriculture and Biology (NIAB), Faisalabad and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).

Seminar on digital technologies at Agriculture University Rawalpindi

Rawalpindi :17 January: Speakers stressed to enhance the use of space-related technologies, applications, services and information to manage the water resources in adequate manners to fulfill the needs of country in agriculture. Agriculture University and Chinese university sign MoU

Rawalpindi :20 December: Pir Mehr Ali Shah Arid Agriculture University Rawalpindi (PMAS-AAUR) and Shihezi University of China (SUC) signed a Memorandum of understanding (MoU) to extend the scientific cooperation between both universities, here on Thursday. Prof. Dr. Qamar Zaman Vice Chancellor PMAS-AAUR and Prof. Dr. Fenghua Zhang of SUC signed the MoU on behalf of their respective organizations.

FJWU observes silence in memory of APS martyrs

Rawalpindi:17 December: Fatima Jinnah Women University (FJWU) organised an event in the memory of APS martyrs of December 16, 2014. One minute silence, for the APS martyrs, was observed by the staff, faculty members and students. FJM University approves hiring of officers, doctors

LAHORE:17 December: Health Minister Dr Yasmeen Rashid chaired 15th syndicate meeting at Fatima Jinnah Medical University (FJMU) here on Monday. Syndicate members took important decisions during the meeting under the chair of Dr Yasmeen Rashid. On the recommendations of selection board approval was granted for appointment of officers and doctors from grade 16 to grade 20 during syndicate meeting.
