University of Engineering donates to PM’s relief fund

LAHORE :19 April: During a meeting with Punjab Governor/University of Engineering and Technology Chancellor Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar, UET Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Syed Mansoor Sarwar along with university’s Textile Engineering Department Faisalabad Campus Chairman and Project Head Dr Mohsin presented a cheque for over Rs 2.55 million from faculty, officers and staff of the university as a donation to the Prime Minister’s Relief Fund for Covid-19.

University of Engineering entrance test to be held online

LAHORE :12 April: For the first time in the history of University of Engineering and Technology (UET), the UET Entrance Test will be held online this year, immediately at the end of the intermediate theory examinations of second year. According to a press release, UET has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Virtual University of Pakistan to conduct the entrance test on the designated VU Campuses in Punjab.

University of Engineering produces sanitizer, soaps and sprays

LAHORE :29 March: Two working groups from Chemical Engineering and Chemistry departments of University of Engineering and Technology, under the supervision of their deans, have produced multiple lines of sanitisers, liquid disinfectant soaps, herbal antiviral disinfectants, and alcohol-based sprays. The groups have produced these items according to the formulations recommended by World Health Organisation (WHO). The university has distributed sanitisers and disinfectant liquid soap among 163 international students who are living in the hostels, guards, and other essential staff.

University of Engineering alumni-funded computer lab inaugurated

LAHORE:18 January:The inauguration ceremony for the alumni-funded computer lab was held at Mechatronics and Control Engineering Department of University of Engineering and Technology (UET) here on Friday. UET Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Syed Mansoor Sarwar inaugurated the lab funded by the university’s alumni. Prof Dr Syed Mansoor Sarwar expressed his gratitude to the alumni for raising over Rs 4 million for purchase of 45 brand new computers.

University of Engineering Gas conservation awareness walk

LAHORE:09 December:Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Ltd (SNGPL) in collaboration with University of Engineering & Technology Lahore and Rescue 1122 organised an awareness walk at Hussain Chowk here to raise awareness about conservation of natural gas. The walk was led SNGPL Managing Director Amer Tufail and Vice-Chancellor, University of Engineering and Technology (UET), Dr Mansoor Sarwar. Sohail Gulzar, DMD (Operations); Syed Jawad Naseem, SGM; Chaudhry Ijaz, SGM; Farrukh Majeed Bala, General Manager (HSE), Rescue 1122 officials and students from UET also participated in the walk.

University of Engineering with NAB in curbing corruption

LAHORE:27 November:University of Engineering and Technology (UET) in collaboration with National Accountability Bureau (NAB) organised a seminar to create awareness among students against corruption and the role of NAB in fighting this menace. UET Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Syed Mansoor Sarwar, NAB Director Niaz Hassan, Additional Director Khalid Mahmood, Deputy Director Muhammad Sajid, UET officials and faculty members, staff and large number of students attended the seminar.

Malaysian university,University of Engineering sign MoU

LAHORE : 23 November:Universiti Teknologi Petronas (UTP), a leading university of Malaysia, signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with University of Engineering and Technology, Lahore, to promote mutual research and academic collaboration in various fields. According to a press release, both UTP and UET will collaborate in joint thesis supervision, faculty and student exchange and collaborative development of various academic programmes.

Rai Imtiaz Hassan completed PhD from University of Engineering

Lahore:15 October:Rai Imtiaz Hassan has completed his PhD in City & Regional Planning from the University of Engineering & Technology (UET) LahoreTown Planner of Municipal Corporation Lahore (MCL) Rai Imtiaz Hassan has completed his PhD in City & Regional Planning from the University of Engineering & Technology (UET) Lahore. Over 46,000 take entrance test for engineering universities

LAHORE:July 15: University of Engineering & Technology (UET), Lahore, on Sunday organised a combined entrance test for admissions to B. Sc Engineering and B. Sc Engineering Technology. More than 46,000 candidates, seeking admissions to different engineering universities of Punjab appeared in the test. Thirteen test centres were established in different cities of Punjab, including Lahore and Islamabad, to facilitate maximum number of students.

University of Engineering BSc admission test on July 14

LAHORE: June 28:University of Engineering & Technology (UET) has announced that entrance test for admission to UET, its affiliated engineering colleges and other engineering institutions will be held on July 14. After the engineering colleges admission test (ECAT), applications for admission in BSc would be received in September 2019. Last date for data entry and generation of Admit Card online is July 3.

University of Engineering VC appointed

LAHORE:25 June: Higher Education Department (HED) Punjab on Monday issued appointment notification of Prof Dr Syed Mansoor Sarwar as the Vice Chancellor of the University of Engineering & Technology (UET) Lahore. He was serving as Vice Chancellor of a private university and formerly was Principal of the Punjab University’s College of Information Technology (PUCIT). Dr Mansoor Sarwar joined the university on Monday and was warmly received by the faculty members and administration of the university. Prof Mansoor Sarwar holds a PhD in Computer Engineering from Iowa State University, USA.The news.
