LAHORE:01 May:An accountability court on Thursday adjourned the hearing of Punjab University illegal appointment reference after main accused former Punjab University Vice-Chancellor Dr Mujahid Kamran withdrew his acquittal application. It has learnt that the former PU VC has withdrawn his acquittal application due to expiry of amended NAB ordinance. The court has adjourned the hearing of the case for May 9.

LAHORE :30 April:Punjab University’s Department of Examinations has directed the students of BA/BSc/ Associate Degree in Arts/Science P-I & P-II of Annual 2020 to provide their email addresses (GMAIL only), WhatsApp number and cell number on the portal of the university at http://www.pu.edu.pk/ latest by May 10, 2020. A PU spokesperson said the information was required on urgent basis for speedy coordination with the candidates owing to the current Covid-19 situation and to keep them informed individually about any related development.The news.
LAHORE:30 April:Punjab University (PU) Directorate of Students Affairs has announced All Pakistan Online Poetry and Essay Competitions in which all Pakistanis can participate. In a press statement, the PU spokesman said in order to engage people in positive activities at home due to lockdown, various departments of the university have launched online competitions to provide a platform for mental well-being and good physical health of the people.
LAHORE:28 April:Punjab University Registration Branch has extended the date of submission of registration forms for MA/MSc and Bachelor of Commerce annual exams 2020 with double fee till May 10, 2020. Earlier, the date expired on 27-03-2020 and 31-03-2020, respectively but due to Covid-19 pandemic the registration process was postponed and now the dates to submit registration forms have been extended.The news.

LAHORE :24 April:An online meeting of the Punjab University’s Academic Council was held here Thursday which decided the possibility of conducting online examinations if the prevailing situation vis-a-vis Covid-19 did not improve by end of June, 2020. PU Vice-Chancellor Prof Niaz Ahmad chaired the online meeting which was attended by Pro-Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Saleem Mazhar, Registrar Dr Muhammad Khalid Khan, deans, heads of departments and professors.
LAHORE: 22 April:Punjab University (PU) Vice-Chancellor Prof Niaz Ahmad on Tuesday chaired an online meeting of the affiliated law colleges for conducting online classes and examinations of LLB. Pro-Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Saleem Mazhar, Registrar Dr Muhammad Khalid Khan, principals and representatives of affiliated law colleges participated in the meeting. On the suggestions made by all the representatives, the PU administration made several decisions to minimise the time loss of the students due to coronavirus pandemic.

LAHORE:19 April: Punjab University (PU)’s Institute of Agricultural Sciences (IAGS) on Friday organised an online training session on ‘Food Safety and Dietary Guidelines’. IAGS Director Dr Muhammad Saleem Haider, Food Science and Technology Coordinator Dr Shinawar Waseem Ali, Dr Rizwan Tariq and other food experts addressed a large number of people who participated in the online training session.
Lahore:18 April:Punjab University (PU) Vice-Chancellor Prof Niaz Ahmad has instructed the official concerned to make necessary arrangements for payment of salaries and pensions to in-service and retired employees on April 23, 2020. According to a press release, the daily wages employees will also get their salary without any deduction as they have assigned duties during this period. Prof Niaz issued these instructions in the wake of the upcoming holy month of Ramazan under the prevailing situation of lockdown due to coronavirus.
LAHORE:16 April:Punjab University will establish Bio-Safety Level-3 (BSL-3) laboratory to do research on various aspects of Covid-19. PU Vice-Chancellor Prof Niaz Ahmad said that the laboratory would be set up at the Centre for Applied Molecular Biology (CAMB) on war footings. He said that the university administration would provide the most advanced and state-of-the-art technical equipment to the scientists to work on Covid-19. He said that the latest safety gadgets and related material would be provided to researchers and lab staff in order to provide them a safe environment.

Lahore:03 April: Punjab University’s Institute of Agricultural Sciences (IAGS) has organised an online kitchen gardening training programme in order to promote healthy activities for the people at home in the prevailing situation. In this regard, IAGS Director Prof Dr Saleem Haider, faculty members, including Moazzam Anis, Dr Mubeen Sarwar, Dr Shafiq and MPhil scholar Arsalan gave hands-on training for growing organic food at home to a large number of participants who were connected through social networking software.
