LAHORE:04 February:Oxford University Press has won a competitive tender by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) to develop the science framework for PISA 2024. The OECD’s Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA) is widely acknowledged as the benchmark for evaluating education systems across the world, examining students’ knowledge of mathematics, reading and science. It provides a comprehensive international assessment of the skills 15-year-olds need in order to further academic education before entering the workforce.The news.

LAHORE:04 February:A seminar on “Awareness Raising Sessions on Safe, Informed and Legal Migration” was held at the Punjab University’s Department of Gender Studies (DGS). The speaker, Rana Imran Arshad, informed the students that there were six types of visas which could be applied to enter into any foreign country. He said in Pakistan, 90pc visa applicants were the one who go overseas for work, 7pc for studies and 3pc sought permanent migration. LAHORE:04 February:For the first time Punjab University (PU) Examinations Department will receive admission forms of students of affiliated colleges online in various degrees. The measure has been taken on the directions of PU Vice-Chancellor Prof Niaz Ahmad to facilitate students and administrative staff of affiliated colleges, who had to visit the university’s New Campus for this purpose from various parts of the country.
Lahore: 31 January:A Punjab University MPhil student who was allegedly picked up by "unidentified men" in Lahore early on Thursday morning has returned home, his family said. Mohsin Abdali, who is completing his MPhil in Agricultural Sciences at the university, was allegedly abducted by unidentified men from his residence in Lahore. An initial report of the incident, a copy of which is available with Dawn.com, was submitted by Abdali's family to Baghbanpura police station for the offence of kidnapping.

Lahore:24 January: Government College University (GCU) here on Thursday launched a campaign “Know Your Sustainable Development Goals” for mainstreaming United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in teaching and learning experiences across the university. The campaign, jointly initiated by the university’s Environment Protection Society (EPS) in collaboration with the Green Box, is aimed at supporting and accelerating local and national capacity of key stakeholders, including teachers and students, to implement the SDGs.
Lahore:22 January: Punjab University (PU) has issued the schedule for submission of admission forms and fee for Associate Degree Arts/Science and BA/BSc Annual Examination 2020. The last date of submission of admission forms for Associate Degree in Arts/Science Part-I (for the candidates who passed Intermediate Examination in Supplementary Examination 2019), Associate Degree in Science, Special Categories (MBBS, BDS, Pharm-D, and General Nursing) and BA/BSc (Composite/Improve Division) is Feb 12, 2020 while the forms can be submitted with double fee till Feb 17.

GCU Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Asghar Zaidi stated this while addressing the faculty of intermediate studies at the university’s Faiz Seminar Hall. LAHORE:21 January: The syndicate of University of Health Sciences (UHS) has approved the affiliation of 29 institutes for start of 56 new postgraduate and undergraduate programmes. The 58th meeting of UHS Syndicate was held here on Monday with Vice Chancellor Prof Javed Akram in the chair. The other members who were present included Prof Talat Naseer Pasha, Prof Khawaja Sadiq Hussain, Prof Humaira Akram, Prof Nadia Naseem, Prof Nasir Shah, Dr Asad Zaheer and representatives of Punjab Specialized Healthcare and Medical Education (SHC&ME) and Finance departments.
