LAHORE :01 May:The largest virtual platform of Urdu literature has launched its android app with the objective of promoting and disseminating Urdu literature to its global readership from over 160 countries across the globe. According to communiqué released by the platform, the resource provides the works of the highest number of poets compared to any other site in this genre. The foundation is also running a free-of-cost website, which is the largest online repository of Urdu poetry anywhere with over 40,000 Ghazals and Nazms of over 4,500 poets of over the last three centuries.
LAHORE:01 May:An accountability court on Thursday adjourned the hearing of Punjab University illegal appointment reference after main accused former Punjab University Vice-Chancellor Dr Mujahid Kamran withdrew his acquittal application. It has learnt that the former PU VC has withdrawn his acquittal application due to expiry of amended NAB ordinance. The court has adjourned the hearing of the case for May 9.
LAHORE :30 April:Punjab University’s Department of Examinations has directed the students of BA/BSc/ Associate Degree in Arts/Science P-I & P-II of Annual 2020 to provide their email addresses (GMAIL only), WhatsApp number and cell number on the portal of the university at http://www.pu.edu.pk/ latest by May 10, 2020. A PU spokesperson said the information was required on urgent basis for speedy coordination with the candidates owing to the current Covid-19 situation and to keep them informed individually about any related development.The news.
LAHORE:30 April:Punjab University (PU) Directorate of Students Affairs has announced All Pakistan Online Poetry and Essay Competitions in which all Pakistanis can participate. In a press statement, the PU spokesman said in order to engage people in positive activities at home due to lockdown, various departments of the university have launched online competitions to provide a platform for mental well-being and good physical health of the people.
Lahore:29 April:Punjab Professors & Lecturers Association (PPLA) has demanded the government ensure early clearance of dues and fast process of pension of those college teachers who have retired from service during the ongoing lockdown. PPLA observed that college teachers who had retired from their services during the lockdown were facing extreme financial problems as their cases were not being processed on a fast track.The news.
LAHORE:28 April:Punjab University Registration Branch has extended the date of submission of registration forms for MA/MSc and Bachelor of Commerce annual exams 2020 with double fee till May 10, 2020. Earlier, the date expired on 27-03-2020 and 31-03-2020, respectively but due to Covid-19 pandemic the registration process was postponed and now the dates to submit registration forms have been extended.The news.

LAHORE:25 April:Justice Ayesha A Malik of the Lahore High Court on Friday dismissed a petition challenging online classes being conducted by higher educational institutions during the pandemic lockdown. Justice Ayesha A Malik ruled that the instant petition was not maintainable because holding online classes was the policy matter of the government and court could not interfere in it.

LAHORE:24 April:Government College University (GCU) Lahore on Thursday announced that it will resume online classes after the training of its teachers and quality control of courses. Prof Zaidi further said that the GCU constituted a “Panel for Digital Learning Environment” and embarked upon a four-dimension strategy comprising teachers’ training, preparation of approved online-ready courses, adoption of the Learning Management System (LMS) and procedures for online classes and providing time, support and guidance to students for readiness for online classes.
LAHORE :24 April:An online meeting of the Punjab University’s Academic Council was held here Thursday which decided the possibility of conducting online examinations if the prevailing situation vis-a-vis Covid-19 did not improve by end of June, 2020.
