Boys clinched all top three positions in SSC Annual Exam

RAWALPINDI:15 July: Boys have clinched all the top three positions in the science group in Secondary School Certificate (SSC) Annual Examination 2019. The results are due to be formally announced during a ceremony on Monday morning. However, fewer girls failed the exams than boys with an overall pass percentage of 75.8 per cent. According to official result documents from the Rawalpindi Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (RBISE), Waqas Ahmed of the Hassan Abdal Cadet College topped the overall examinations by obtaining 1,089 marks.

The students can check their results on the board’s website ''www.biserwp.edu.pk, and www.biserawalpindi.edu.pk''. The results can also be checked by sending Short Message Service (SMS) at 800296.The news.

FDE abolishes school, college wings in federal capital

RAWALPINDI:25 June: In a surprising move, the apex education regulator of the federal capital has decided to abolish its school and college wings while revising portfolios of six directors by handing them greater responsibilities. According to the notification issued by the Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) director general, six directors were given additional responsibilities which will come into effect from July 1.

New Rawalpindi University admissions start in June

Rawalpindi:15 May: Minister for Railways Sheikh Rashid Ahmed on Tuesday said that newly established university in Rawalpindi would start admissions in June and over 7,000 female students would be initially imparted higher education near their doorstep. In a statement issued here, the minister thanked Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar to issuing notification for the Rawalpindi’s second largest women university.

SLS School holds table tennis tournament

Rawalpindi :08 May: A five-day inter-branch Table Tennis tournament was held at Sadeeqa’s Learning System (SLS) Montessori and High School, says a press release. The week-long event was hosted by Peshawar Road Primary branch, Satellite Town Primary branch, 37-Tulsa Road Branch, Gulraiz Senior Branch, Harley Street Senior Branch and Islamabad Campus. A total of 408 students participated in this year’s competition out of which 212 were girl and 196 were boy participants.

English Language Week celebrated at SLS High school

Convocation of FG Postgraduate College for Women

Rawalpindi :26 April: The 30th convocation of F.G Postgraduate College for Women, Kashmir Road was held on Thursday. It was organised to award degrees, rolls of honour and merit certificates to the graduates of B.A, B.Sc, M.A Urdu for the Session 2015-17. Maj Gen Nigar Johar, TI(M), Commandant PEMH, Rawalpindi was the chief guest on this occasion. The proceedings of the ceremony started with recitation from the Holy Quran by Wajeeha Tabassum. Nighat Younis presented ‘Naat’ (SAW), national anthem was presented by Surraya, Nighat, Sajar and Muniba.

SLS students celebrate Earth Day

Rawalpindi Indus Valley School students 800 trees planted

Rawalpindi:14 April: Students of Grades 2, 3, 4 and 5 of Indus Valley School of Learning, Rawalpindi, travelled to Shahpur Dam, along with some teachers, and planted 800 trees there, along the fringes of the dam. The plantation this year was done in collaboration with the National Logistics Cell, represented by Col. Nawab Dogar. Also present were Faisal Anwar, Consultant, Hassaan, and Raheel Adnan. It was rather a hot day, but the kids braved the sun and participated wholeheartedly in planting the saplings.
