PM inspected Vocational Training Institute Multan

MULTAN:06 February: Punjab Minister for Prisons Zawar Hussain Warraich inspected proposed site for establishing vocational training institute here on Wednesday. The land for vocational training institute is located at Chak 325. According to official sources, the minister instructed officials concerned to submit case with additional deputy commissioner revenue. He also issued instruction for completion of paper work for execution of the project.He stated that provision of technical education was top priority of the incumbent government.The news.

Attock schoolteacher booked, suspended for striking student

ATTOCK:16 January: A school teacher was booked and suspended from service on Wednesday for allegedly subjecting a minor to corporal punishment during class for not learning his lessons. Sources said that a five-year-old student at the government high school number 2 went to school on Wednesday. There, his teacher, Ijaz, subjected him to severe punishment for not learning his lesson including beating him with a stick on his face and other parts of the body.

BISE Multan 1st year annual examination result 2019

MULTAN:09 October: The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE), Multan will announce the results of Intermediate Part I (Annual) Examination 2019 today (Wednesday), October 9, 2019. School headmaster deprived of bank savings by crooks

BUREWALA:15 November: A headmaster of a government school claimed that he was deprived of his life’s savings after criminals cleaned out his account in Burewala, Express News reported on Wednesday. Victim Ghulam Yasin, a resident of Dogar Market and Headmaster in Government Middle School 317, Deewan Sahib, said that three months back, an unidentified person called him on his cellphone and claimed he was speaking from the head office of a local bank. He added the caller inquired about his bank account details, ATM card number, CNIC and other information.

Students in China face hardship as govt fails to pay stipend

MULTAN:15 November: At least 270 students sent by former government to China under the chief minister’s Chinese language programme have not received their monthly stipend as the amount has not been transferred to their accounts, Express News has learnt. Majority of the students lacking personal resources are facing starvation in the foreign land.

Multan Police Filed FIR Against 23 people in BUZ university violence case

MULTAN:INP: Police on Monday lodged a case against 23 suspects for brutally torturing a student at Bahauddin Zakariya University (BZU).
The security personnel launched raids at the university hostels on Punjab Governor Chaudhry Sarwar’s directives, however, no detention has been made so far.

The university administration has also issued notices to the students involved in the incident and directed them to cooperate with the police.
Strict security arrangements have been ensured in the premises of the campus to avoid any untoward incident.

Teachers demand salary increase in upcoming budget

MULTAN:27 May: The Punjab Teachers Union has demanded an increase in salaries of employees. “An increase of 100% should be ensured in house rent because it has not been increased for the last several years,” Punjab Teachers Union (PTU) Senior Vice President Rana Altaf Hussain said while speaking to journalists in Multan on Tuesday. He added, “The salaries of teachers are not sufficient and they are spending a miserable life.”

Missing’ laptops: Students protest outside BISE

MULTAN:25 May: Scores of students staged a demonstration outside the Multan Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) for ignoring them in laptop schemes on Saturday. The protesters blocked the road, leading up to the BISE offices. They held banners and placards which bore slogans in favour of their demands. The students alleged that they had achieved positions during 2015, but were not given the laptops they were once promised, despite fulfilling the criteria.

Teachers association to stage sit-in on January 25

MULTAN:22 January:The Punjab Professors and Lecturers Association (PPLA) has expressed concern over the failure of the Higher Education Department (HED) and Punjab government in fulfilling teachers’ demands and threatened to stage a sit-in on The Mall, Lahore on January 25. The teachers also announced they will boycott classes at local educational institutions, including Civil lines College, Wilayat Hussain Islamia College, Government Emerson College Bosan Road and Alamdar Hussain Islamia College.
