Punjabi literature, culture conference ends

LAHORE:17 February:On the last day of the 30th International Conference on Punjabi Literature and Culture, the participants and the distinguished guests from various parts of the world strongly demanded that Punjabi should be given rightful place in Pakistani Punjab. It should be taught at the primary level and spoken in the Punjab legislature. A Punjabi university should be established in Lahore. The curriculum in colleges should be revised and made modern according to the changes in Punjabi language.

Students Visited Faiz Amn Mela at Bagh-i-Jinnah

LAHORE:17 February: A good number of people from all walks of life attended the Faiz Amn Mela at Bagh-i-Jinnah’s Open Air Theatre on Sunday. The Faiz Amn Mela Committee organised the event that is a regular feature of Lahore’s cultural calendar, attracting people not only from Lahore but from other cities as well. Poets and intellectuals from India also attended the mela.

Judges visit King Edward Medical University

LAHORE:12 February:The newly-promoted additional district and session judges visited King Edward Medical University (KEMU) on Tuesday as part of their training. A batch of about 36 newly-promoted additional and district session judges under the chairmanship of Punjab Judicial Academy director general visited Department of Forensic Medicine at KEMU, Lahore, as part of their training on medico-legal work. They observed three medico-legal autopsies.

Over 500 students attend art classes at Alhamra Academy

LAHORE:12 February:The Alhamra Academy of Performing Arts is the only institution of its kind that technically prepares our youths according to the practical field requirements of arts, especially in painting, drawing and sculpture at both complexes of Alhamra Academy of Performing Arts. More than 500 students in total and around 100 students of painting and drawing and sculpture are attending classes at “Alhamra Academy of Performing Arts” where Alhamra’s teachers polish their God gifted ability of painting, singing, dancing and different instruments,” he said.

Punjab University rally expresses solidarity with China

Lahore:11 February:Punjab University Punjab University along with Chinese students have expressed solidarity with China and its people coping with coronavirus. In this regard, a rally was taken out by PU Department of Political Science in which the participants were carrying placards inscribed with “We Stand with China”. Department of Political Science Chairperson Prof Dr Iram Khalid, Prof Dr Rana Ejaz, Dr Shabbir Ahmad Khan, students of the department and Chinese students of the university participated in the rally.

BA Law Part-I and II, Supple Exam results out

Lahore:11 February:Controller of Examinations Prof Dr Arshad Azmi announced the results of BA Law Part-I and II, Supplementary Examination 2018. According to the gazette issued, eight candidates registered and appeared in the supple papers, and six students were declared passed. The overall pass percentage was 75 per cent. The gazette shows that 59 candidates registered and appeared in the exams. Of them, 43 students cleared their papers. The overall pass percentage was 72.88 per cent.The news.

Trauma life support course held in CPSP

LAHORE:10 February:The Advance Trauma Life Support (ATLS) course was held under the auspices of College of Physicians and Surgeons of Pakistan (CPSP) under directorship of National Residency Programme Prof Mahmood Ayyaz. The international-recognised course is now available for local Pakistani doctors for their capacity building. CPSP has now introduced the latest 10th edition of the course in the country. Pakistan is the first country in the South Asian region which had done so.
