Lahore:18 April:Punjab University (PU) Vice-Chancellor Prof Niaz Ahmad has instructed the official concerned to make necessary arrangements for payment of salaries and pensions to in-service and retired employees on April 23, 2020. According to a press release, the daily wages employees will also get their salary without any deduction as they have assigned duties during this period. Prof Niaz issued these instructions in the wake of the upcoming holy month of Ramazan under the prevailing situation of lockdown due to coronavirus.

LAHORE :18 April:The Lahore High Court Chief Justice Muhammad Qasim Khan on Friday directed the Punjab government to issue notification regarding temporarily opening of offices of private schools during the coronavirus lockdown.
LAHORE:17 April: Lahore High Court (LHC) Chief Justice Muhammad Qasim Khan has asked the provincial home and education secretaries to appear before the court on Friday if the government fails to resolve the issue of opening the offices of private schools for paying salaries. The chief justice was hearing a petition against the closure of school offices during the lockdown imposed to prevent the spread of novel coranavirus. The petitioner had complained that salaries had not been paid to the teachers and other employees.
LAHORE:17 April: Lahore High Court Chief Justice Muhammad Qasim Khan on Thursday directed the provincial government to decide whether to allow private schools to open their offices during the Coronavirus lockdown. The chief justice was hearing a petition by the private schools seeking permission to open their offices so that they could pay salaries to teachers and staff. They said the salaries of last month had not been paid to the staff so far due to the lockdown.

LAHORE:16 April:Punjab University will establish Bio-Safety Level-3 (BSL-3) laboratory to do research on various aspects of Covid-19. PU Vice-Chancellor Prof Niaz Ahmad said that the laboratory would be set up at the Centre for Applied Molecular Biology (CAMB) on war footings. He said that the university administration would provide the most advanced and state-of-the-art technical equipment to the scientists to work on Covid-19. He said that the latest safety gadgets and related material would be provided to researchers and lab staff in order to provide them a safe environment.

LAHORE :12 April: For the first time in the history of University of Engineering and Technology (UET), the UET Entrance Test will be held online this year, immediately at the end of the intermediate theory examinations of second year. According to a press release, UET has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Virtual University of Pakistan to conduct the entrance test on the designated VU Campuses in Punjab.
