Fasil abad University to develop low-cost bio pesticides

The research and development (R&D) cell will accelerate the pace of work and develop new biopesticides to curb locusts playing havoc with the agriculture sector, University of Agriculture, Faisalabad (UAF) Vice-Chancellor Dr Muhammad Ashraf has said. He stated this while chairing the performance review meeting of the locusts R&D cell of the varsity. Entomology Department Chairperson Dr Masnoor Sahi, Dr Jalal Arif, Dr Muhammad Saghir, Dr Amer Rasul, Dr Masoorul Hassan and other scientists were present on the occasion.

He said this while chairing a performance review meeting of locusts’ cell of the varsity here on Monday. University of Faisalabad produced bio based anti-bacterial facemasks

LAHORE:08 April:In order to combat the spread of Covid-19, Department of Textile Engineering University of Engineering and Technology’s Faisalabad Campus (UET-FSD) has produced cost and performance effective bio based anti-bacterial facemasks. These masks have been produced with specific polypropylene non-woven fabric as per the recommendation of World Health Organisation (WHO). The key properties of the facemask include air permeability, thickness, tensile strength, water repellency, tear strength and microscopic analysis as per international standards.

150 pilgrims shifted to University of Faisalabad quarantine facility

FAISALABAD:24 March: As many as 150 pilgrims, arriving from Taftan, were shifted to the PARS campus of the University of Agriculture, Faisalabad (UAF). Pilgrims were transported to the quarantine facility in seven buses. The 150 pilgrims will be kept in quarantine for 14 days, where medical staff will perform duties in three shifts. Police and staff on duty wear gloves and masks. The pilgrims included women and children. All these pilgrims will be screened and their report will be ready in three days.

Quality education, research stressed to meet challenges

University of Agriculture Faisalabad Syndicate meets

FAISALABAD:02 June: The 315th meeting of the University of Agriculture Faisalabad Syndicate on Saturday discussed the critical issues relating to the R&D, governance and approval of various decisions tabled for deliberation. UAF Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Muhammad Ashraf presided over the meeting. The VC welcomed the newly appointed member Prof Dr Nasir Amin who would represent the Higher Education Commission in the varsity Syndicate. Teacher booked for forcing minor boy to eat grass as punishment

LODHRAN:29 May: A schoolteacher was booked on Tuesday for forcing a minor boy to eat grass over his failure to learn a lesson at the Government Primary School, Fatehpur. A video went viral on social media, showing seven-year-old Kashan, a student of pre-school, being forced to either eat grass or read out the lesson in front of his class fellows. The video clip shows Kashan forgetting his lesson and eating grass after being forced by his teacher, identified as Hamid Raza.
