Rawalpindi: 09 February:In Rawalpindi exam results with high grades and good marks are advertised by all Rawalpindi schools. But a majority of parents barely feel happy. They think that certificates indicating good results being handed over to students are to conceal lack of good education. “The thing which sets alarm bell ringing is lack of proper knowledge among children who pass their exam with good results. Ironically the fault doesn’t lie with them. The school authorities are to blame for this,” says Wajeeh-ul-Hasan.

Lahore Book Fair attracts world publishers, think tanks

International Peace and Punjabi Conference ended

LAHORE:04 February: The International Peace and Punjabi Conference has ended by issuing a declaration known as Lahore declaration. World Punjabi Congress Chairman Fakhar Zaman said that it was a history making conference and this will lead to peaceful relations between the two countries. He appreciated the Kartarpur Corridor opening decision by Prime Minister Imran Khan. He declared that a bigger conference will be held in Lahore again next year in February.

Three-day literary extravaganza comes to an end

Fatima Jinnah Women University five day training Workshop

Rawalpindi:February 2: Women Research and Resource Center (WRRC), Fatima Jinnah Women University organized a five day (January 28 to February 1, 2019) training workshop for the facilitators of “Active Citizenship Program (ACP)” in collaboration with British Council. The MOU for this program was signed between British Council and Fatima Jinnah Women University in 2016.

Proposals on educational reforms sought

LAHORE:February 1: Minister for Schools Education Murad Raas has asked the departments concerned to submit their viable proposals for implementing short-term, mid-term and long-term plans under “the new deal for Punjab.” The attached departments are directed to submit their proposals within next seven days for introducing educational reforms. This was stated by him during a meeting at his office here on Thursday. Secretary Schools Zafar Iqbal, Special Secretary (Operations) Jahanzaib Khan, Chairman & MD PCTB and others attended the meeting.

National training in Agriculture University, Rawalpindi

Rawalpindi :31 January: A one day 5th national training on Commercial Ostrich Farming was held at Pir Mehr Ali Shah Arid Agriculture University, Rawalpindi (PMAS-AAUR, here on Tuesday, with an aim to provide technical knowledge as well as expertise for health and diseases, handling, management and marketing of ostrich meat and its by-products. The training also covered various techniques that can result in enhanced meat yield and high livability at the young age under local farm environment.

Punjab University revises curriculum

LAHORE:30 January: Punjab University has revised curriculum for BA (Part I and II) for the subject of education with effect from the academic session 2019 and onward.
