LAHORE:07 February:The 4th Annual Seerat Conference was held at University of Education, Township Campus here on Thursday. Renowned scholar Dr Raghib Naeemi, Prof Maulana Yousaf Khan, Prof Dr Akhtar Hussain Azmi, Head of Seerat Chair Dr Muhammad Ashraf, Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Talat Naseer Pasha and a large number of students and teachers attended the conference held under the theme “The Reasons of Extremism and its Prevention in the light of Seerat-un-Nabi (PBUH)”. In his address, Prof Dr Talat Naseer Pasha said ‘we could overcome the growing extremism while following the teachings of Seerat-un-Nabi (PBUH) because our Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) was the best teacher of mankind who always teaches us to respect humanity, love, affection and care.’ Dr Pasha said ‘if we want to be true Muslims then we have to follow the footsteps of our beloved Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH)’. He said ‘our religious scholars and teachers could contribute a lot towards eradication of extremism from our society so that we could live with peace and progress in our individual and collective lives’. Dr Raghib Naeemi said lack of true knowledge, lack of justice and poverty were the basic reasons of extremism. He said sine 9/11 more than 70,000 innocent Pakistanis have been martyred by the terrorists. Dr Muhammad Ashraf said the extremism was in fact state of mind which had different reasons. He said Europe remained the victim of extremism for a long time and added the Islamic world should get united to eradicate extremism.The news.
