LAHORE:18 January:The inauguration ceremony for the alumni-funded computer lab was held at Mechatronics and Control Engineering Department of University of Engineering and Technology (UET) here on Friday. UET Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Syed Mansoor Sarwar inaugurated the lab funded by the university’s alumni. Prof Dr Syed Mansoor Sarwar expressed his gratitude to the alumni for raising over Rs 4 million for purchase of 45 brand new computers.

The walk was led SNGPL Managing Director Amer Tufail and Vice-Chancellor, University of Engineering and Technology (UET), Dr Mansoor Sarwar. LAHORE:27 November:University of Engineering and Technology (UET) in collaboration with National Accountability Bureau (NAB) organised a seminar to create awareness among students against corruption and the role of NAB in fighting this menace. UET Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Syed Mansoor Sarwar, NAB Director Niaz Hassan, Additional Director Khalid Mahmood, Deputy Director Muhammad Sajid, UET officials and faculty members, staff and large number of students attended the seminar.
LAHORE : 23 November:Universiti Teknologi Petronas (UTP), a leading university of Malaysia, signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with University of Engineering and Technology, Lahore, to promote mutual research and academic collaboration in various fields. According to a press release, both UTP and UET will collaborate in joint thesis supervision, faculty and student exchange and collaborative development of various academic programmes.

LAHORE:11 th October:The e-Rozgaar Programme, a joint project of Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) and Youth Affairs, Sports, Archeology and Tourism, held a combined graduation ceremony of June’19-September’19 batch graduating 540 candidates who earned Rs 1,476,995 from three e-Rozgaar centres in Lahore.

LAHORE:July 15: University of Engineering & Technology (UET), Lahore, on Sunday organised a combined entrance test for admissions to B. Sc Engineering and B. Sc Engineering Technology. More than 46,000 candidates, seeking admissions to different engineering universities of Punjab appeared in the test. Thirteen test centres were established in different cities of Punjab, including Lahore and Islamabad, to facilitate maximum number of students.
LAHORE: June 28:University of Engineering & Technology (UET) has announced that entrance test for admission to UET, its affiliated engineering colleges and other engineering institutions will be held on July 14. After the engineering colleges admission test (ECAT), applications for admission in BSc would be received in September 2019. Last date for data entry and generation of Admit Card online is July 3.
LAHORE:25 June: Higher Education Department (HED) Punjab on Monday issued appointment notification of Prof Dr Syed Mansoor Sarwar as the Vice Chancellor of the University of Engineering & Technology (UET) Lahore. He was serving as Vice Chancellor of a private university and formerly was Principal of the Punjab University’s College of Information Technology (PUCIT). Dr Mansoor Sarwar joined the university on Monday and was warmly received by the faculty members and administration of the university. Prof Mansoor Sarwar holds a PhD in Computer Engineering from Iowa State University, USA.The news.
LAHORE:June 14: University of Engineering & Technology (UET) on Thursday announced July 3 as the last date for data entry and online generation of admit card for admissions in BSc Engineering and BSc Engineering Technology programmes at UET, its affiliated engineering colleges and other engineering institutions of Punjab. According to a spokesperson for UET, the entry test tokens are available from designated HBL branches on payment of Rs700/- till July 2. Detailed instructions about logging in to the UET admission portal using the token number are given on the token.
LAHORE:May 31: University of Engineering & Technology (UET) while sharing schedule for online registration of a common entrance test for admissions in BSc Engineering and BSc Engineering Technology programmes in engineering institutions around the Punjab announced that the entrance test will be held on July 14. A UET spokesperson said there is no restriction on appearing in the entrance test. However, appearance in the entrance test does not confer the right to apply for admission in the Engineering and Engineering Technology institutions of Punjab.
LAHORE:April 2: A six-member delegation from University of Engineering and Technology (UET) visited LWMC head office here Monday and discussed mutual issues. The delegation was led by Dean of Environmental Engineering Department UET Dr Sajjad Sheikh and met Managing Director, LWMC, Khalid Nazir and his core team. During the meeting it was mutually agreed that UET will provide its technical support and research regarding cheap solutions to landfill site, waste to energy, rehabilitation of dumpsite, executing effective awareness campaign to sensitise people for LWMC without any remuneration.
LAHORE :31 March: The Teaching Staff Association (TSA) of the University of Engineering & Technology (UET) has announced an academic boycott at the university from Monday (tomorrow) against, what it termed, derogatory attitude of the Higher Education Department (HED) officials. In a press release, the UET-TSA alleged a deputy secretary of HED to blatantly insulting the UET Act, UET authorities including the Syndicate & the Selection Board, and faculty members in the Syndicate meeting held on Saturday.
LAHORE:30 March: The Directorate of Students Affairs of University of Engineering and Technology (UET), Lahore, has directed the university’s students and the societies to refrain from inviting professional singers, comedians and performers to the university and selling tickets to the UET students and outsiders.
