Over 46,000 take entrance test for engineering universities

LAHORE:July 15: University of Engineering & Technology (UET), Lahore, on Sunday organised a combined entrance test for admissions to B. Sc Engineering and B. Sc Engineering Technology. More than 46,000 candidates, seeking admissions to different engineering universities of Punjab appeared in the test. Thirteen test centres were established in different cities of Punjab, including Lahore and Islamabad, to facilitate maximum number of students.

University of Engineering BSc admission test on July 14

LAHORE: June 28:University of Engineering & Technology (UET) has announced that entrance test for admission to UET, its affiliated engineering colleges and other engineering institutions will be held on July 14. After the engineering colleges admission test (ECAT), applications for admission in BSc would be received in September 2019. Last date for data entry and generation of Admit Card online is July 3.

University of Engineering VC appointed

LAHORE:25 June: Higher Education Department (HED) Punjab on Monday issued appointment notification of Prof Dr Syed Mansoor Sarwar as the Vice Chancellor of the University of Engineering & Technology (UET) Lahore. He was serving as Vice Chancellor of a private university and formerly was Principal of the Punjab University’s College of Information Technology (PUCIT). Dr Mansoor Sarwar joined the university on Monday and was warmly received by the faculty members and administration of the university. Prof Mansoor Sarwar holds a PhD in Computer Engineering from Iowa State University, USA.The news.

UET announces deadline for online registration

LAHORE:June 14: University of Engineering & Technology (UET) on Thursday announced July 3 as the last date for data entry and online generation of admit card for admissions in BSc Engineering and BSc Engineering Technology programmes at UET, its affiliated engineering colleges and other engineering institutions of Punjab. According to a spokesperson for UET, the entry test tokens are available from designated HBL branches on payment of Rs700/- till July 2. Detailed instructions about logging in to the UET admission portal using the token number are given on the token.

BSc Engineering admission test on July 14

LAHORE:May 31: University of Engineering & Technology (UET) while sharing schedule for online registration of a common entrance test for admissions in BSc Engineering and BSc Engineering Technology programmes in engineering institutions around the Punjab announced that the entrance test will be held on July 14. A UET spokesperson said there is no restriction on appearing in the entrance test. However, appearance in the entrance test does not confer the right to apply for admission in the Engineering and Engineering Technology institutions of Punjab.

University of Engineering delegation visits LWMC

LAHORE:April 2: A six-member delegation from University of Engineering and Technology (UET) visited LWMC head office here Monday and discussed mutual issues. The delegation was led by Dean of Environmental Engineering Department UET Dr Sajjad Sheikh and met Managing Director, LWMC, Khalid Nazir and his core team. During the meeting it was mutually agreed that UET will provide its technical support and research regarding cheap solutions to landfill site, waste to energy, rehabilitation of dumpsite, executing effective awareness campaign to sensitise people for LWMC without any remuneration.

University of Engineering staff warns of an academic boycott

LAHORE :31 March: The Teaching Staff Association (TSA) of the University of Engineering & Technology (UET) has announced an academic boycott at the university from Monday (tomorrow) against, what it termed, derogatory attitude of the Higher Education Department (HED) officials. In a press release, the UET-TSA alleged a deputy secretary of HED to blatantly insulting the UET Act, UET authorities including the Syndicate & the Selection Board, and faculty members in the Syndicate meeting held on Saturday.

An awareness seminar at University of Engineering

LAHORE :March 22: An awareness seminar was organised by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Thursday at the University of Engineering & Technology (UET). NAB Additional Director Rubina spoke about different types of corruption and its prevention. She also shed light on rules and regulations of NAB and created awareness about efforts being made by NAB to eliminate corruption. Earlier, NAB Director Syed Muhammad Hasnain Ahmad and the additional director also met the Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Aziz Akbar.The news.
