University of Veterinary Science to build livestock technology park

LAHORE :02 August:Dr Melad Ahmad shared his study outcomes on comparative efficacy of manual observation vs. NEDAP (Automated) heat and health monitoring in American Holstein cows. Nedap system improved heat detection rates from 40% to 79% when compared with two time manual observation; conventional heat detection method, said Dr Melad. By using these parameters, one could predict heat and health status of an individual cow standing, walking, lying, eating and rumination times, said Dr Ali while demonstrating an automated monitoring system.Published in The Express Tribune, August 2nd, 2017.

UVAS one-day training workshop on ‘Precision Dairy Farming

LAHORE :02 August:The Department of Theriogenology at the University of Veterinary and Animal Science (UVAS) organised a one-day training workshop on ‘Precision Dairy Farming’. Animal Production and Technology Faculty Dean Dr Annum Khalique chaired the workshop at the Ravi campus and emphasised on the importance of PDF in commercial farming. Punjab University VC visits exam centres

LAHORE:02 August: Punjab University (PU) Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Zafar Mueen Nasir visited the examination centres on Wahdat Road and Lawrence Road to review arrangements for ongoing LLB examinations. PU Controller of Examinations Prof Dr Shahid Munir, additional controllers Shahid Javed and Rauf Nawaz accompanied the VC. The VC reviewed arrangements made to facilitate candidates appearing in the exams. PG admission body to redress YDA grievances

LAHORE:01August: A committee on demands of Young Doctors Association (YDA) has recommended bringing disputed cases under Central Induction Policy to Academic Councils and referred to the PG Admission Committee to redress the grievances of the candidates. “The yardstick of regulatory authority for the induction of both undergraduate and postgraduate trainees should be followed,” recommended the committee in a meeting to deliberate on the demands of Young Doctors Association (YDA) held at University of Health Sciences, Lahore.

University of Education admission schedule

LAHORE:August 1: University of Education (UE) on Monday announced the schedule of admissions to its BS/MA/MSc, MPhil and PhD programmes. The university spokesman in a statement said the admission forms would be submitted only through online. The last date to apply for BS/MA/MSc programmes is September 20, 2017, whereas the last date to apply for MPhil and PhD programmes is August 16, 2017. The students can download the admission form from the university’s website and apply online.

University of Engineering open days end

Lahore:July 30:The two open days organised by the University of Engineering and Technology (UET) for prospective engineering students concluded here on Saturday. The event attracted more than 15,000 students and parents who were briefed on the university programmes, policies and life on campus. Teachers willing to go to ‘any extent’ against criteria change

LAHORE:23 July:Varsity teachers say they are willing to go to “any extent” to ensure that their concerns over proposals to revamp the criteria for the appointment of vice chancellors are addressed. Federation of All Pakistan Universities Academic Staff Association’s (FAPUASA) Punjab Chapter has written a letter to the chief minister and law minister, detailing their eight-point objections to the proposed criteria. Lahore:July 23:University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Lahore on Saturday announced the results of the entrance test for admission to engineering institutes of the province. A UET spokesperson said candidates who had appeared for the test could get their results by entering their roll number and CNIC number on the university’s website, news.

According to details, Hira Tariq has been awarded PhD in the subject of Mathematics after approval of her thesis entitled “Efficacious Algorithms for the Solutions of Fractional Differential Equations” and Iram Khan in the subject of Chemistry after approval of her thesis entitled “Synthesis Characterisation and Biological Activity of Complexes of Certain Lanthanide Ions with N-and O-Containing Mixed Ligands”.
