University of Veterinary Sciences team leaves for Quetta

LAHORE:12 August:A delegation of 20 students and four faculty members of University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) on Friday left for Quetta to participate in Karwan-e-Yakjehti event being organised by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) and the Balochistan government to mark 70th Independence Day of Pakistan. The delegation, led by Associate Professor Parasitology Dr Muhammad Lateef, Dr Sadat and Dr Muhammad Asad Ali, will participate in a series of activities in Quetta from August 12 to 17, 2017.The news.

Lahore college Women University week-long Independence Day celebrations

LAHORE:11th august: The Lahore College for Women University (LCWU) announced week-long Independence Day celebrations and has finalised preparations. LCWU Vice Chancellor Dr Uzma Qureshi approved the events in a meeting and asked that these functions continue with traditional fervour. The events will be celebrated from August 7 to August 12. LCWU to introduce TED Talks on campus The Karwan-e-Yagjehti has been organised by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) in collaboration with the Government of Balochistan and Pakistan Army. Students from all across Pakistan will travel to Quetta to celebrate the Independence Day with the aim to promote national integration in Pakistani youth all across the country.

Rs3.81 billion approved as UVAS annual budget

LAHORE: August 11:Syndicate members lauded the role of UVAS for providing quality of education in the country and various food products prepared by students to promote safe and healthy food. Earlier, UVAS Vice Chancellor Dr Pasha along with Dean Faculty of Veterinary Sciences Prof Dr Masood Rabbani and Director Quality Enhancement Cell Dr Hafsa Zainab visited UVAS sub-campus, College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences CVAS, Jhang.

PU, Chinese varsity agree to boost academic ties

LAHORE:09 August: The Punjab University Institute of Communication Studies (ICS) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Liaoning Communication University, China to enhance academic cooperation. The memorandum of understanding aims at promoting academic cooperation between the two educational institutions by providing internships, arranging seminars, conferences and workshops. Both the universities will invite their faculties to work on joint publications.

Postgraduate Medical trainees induction begins

LAHORE:08 August: The Punjab government has started inducting new postgraduate medical trainees against seats which have become vacant in various teaching hospitals of the province. According to a press release on Monday, the Punjab Postgraduate Admission Committee has announced that slots are available at the teaching hospitals of the province in various postgraduate medical courses under Punjab Residency Programme (PRP). Eligible candidates can apply through online registration system by logging in at www.prp.punjab.gov.pk.

US team Visits University of Veterinary

LAHORE:August 4: National Association of Animal Breeders (NAAB) President Jay L Weiker from Wisconsin, the United State, visited the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) and called on Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Talat Naseer Pasha. According to a press release, Jay L Weiker also held a meeting with UVAS professors of Theriogenology. The VC briefed the guest on the UVAS academics, research, extension services, reproduction clinical and lab facilities for small and large animals, short term dairy training programmes and internship.

Lahore ranked 34th in Punjab in educational performance

LAHORE:02 August: The provincial capital has come down to an alarming 34th position as far as the overall academic performance in Punjab is concerned. As many as 13 indicators were selected to gauge educational standards in the province- out of which Punjab shows a satisfactory performance only in one; that is the Function of facilitators, in which the city was ranked number two. Lahore was ranked first in the category of least drop-outs in any city and came 24th in the Literacy Test Math category. It was ranked 28th in possessing the most dangerous school buildings.

University of Engineering hosts Industrial Open House 2017

Punjab University VC visits examination centres

LAHORE :02 August:Punjab University Vice Chancellor Dr Zafar Mueen Nasir has visited examination centres on Wahdat Road and Lawrence Road. PU teachers divided over VC’s appointment Controller of Examinations Dr Shahid Munir, additional controllers Shahid Javed, Rauf Nawaz and others were present on the occasion. The VC reviewed arrangements made to facilitate candidates appearing in LLB examinations. He also asked candidates about the facilities provided to them at the centre.
