Online admissions begin at PUCIT

LAHORE:16 July:The Punjab University has officially inaugurated online admissions at Punjab University College of Information Technology (PUCIT). Punjab University Vice Chancellor Dr Zafar Mueen Nasir inaugurated PUCIT’s indigenous single sign on admission system. On the first day of online registration, more than 1,500 applicants signed up and printed their challan forms to submit the fee. This year, PUCIT expects to receive a record number of applicants due to this hassle-free, automated, and online process at their doorstep.

Pakistan’s first fee-less university in Kasur

LAHORE:15 July:The government is pushing forward with the Punjab Charity Bill 2017 and the proposed legislation will establish a regulatory body as a watchdog for nonprofit organisations,has learnt. Sixth eRozgaar Centre at University of Punjab, Jhelum Campus

LAHORE :14 July: The sixth eRozgaar Centre at the University of Punjab, Jhelum Campus, will be inaugurated on Friday (today) by Information Technology University (ITU) founding Vice-Chancellor Umer Saif. The centre has been established under the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) and Youth Affairs, Sports, Archeology and Tourism Department's joint project “Chief Minister’s eRozgaar Programme.” It is the second centre being opened in north Punjab after a centre at UET, Taxila.

LAHORE :14 July:Punjab University Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Zafar Mueen Nasir has said that China-Pakistan Economic Corridor will bring prosperity in the region as China and Pakistan are partners in development. Research-based studies to highlight women’s issues

LAHORE:13July: The Punjab Commission on Status of Women’s annual summer internship programme started in collaboration with Social Enterprise Development Centre (SEDC) at the Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) and Lahore Students Union (LSU). Summer programme to protect women rights at Lums University

Lahore :13July:Punjab Commission on the Status of Women (PCSW) has started its annual summer internship programme in collaboration with Social Enterprise Development Centre (SEDC), Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) and Lahore Students Union (LSU). This programme will continue for two weeks and currently has eight interns from various universities and colleges within Pakistan and abroad. The interns will be tasked with conducting four research-based studies on various subjects which are key to PCSW’s mandate of securing women’s rights and enabling their empowerment.

LCWU to introduce ‘TED Talks’ at its campus

LAHORE:12 July: The Lahore College for Women University (LCWU) has decided to introduce 'Technology, Entertainment, Design (TED) Talks' to shine a spotlight on students' talent. "The TED Talks share ideas from a broad spectrum from science to business to global issues in more than 100 languages. LCWU to help students train for speech

TED stands for "Technology, Entertainment, Design", and is a conference series that was the brainchild of Richard Saul Wurman, who began it in 1984. No internship in Pakistan of engineering students

Lahore:12 July:Each year in Pakistan, thousands of engineering students pass their examinations. While some university graduates are offered a salary package lower than their expectations, many students fail to get a job. This is because many fresh graduates do not have working experience. The education department should consider offering paid internship opportunities to fresh graduates so that students can have work experience.
