LAHORE:12 November:Allama Iqbal Open University Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Shahid Siddiqui said that altering beliefs, actions and attitudes would bring sustainable change at all levels. He was delivering a lecture in Technology, Entertainment, Design conference (TEDx) which was organised for the first time at Punjab University by the Department of English Language and Literature on Saturday.

Govet College University exhibition on evolution of big cities

LAHORE:November 12:The Government College University (GCU) organised a photographic exhibition on evolution of big cities in Pakistan held on Saturday in connection with the 8th THAAP Conference. The conference, spread over eight technical sessions, was held in collaboration with the Higher Education Commission (HEC). Some 51 photographs on life in major cities of Pakistan were displayed at the exhibition which was attended by a large number of people.

Another US patent awarded to PUCIT faculty

LAHORE:10 november:Punjab University College of Information Technology (PUCIT) Assistant Professor Muhammad Kamran Malik has been awarded the US patent titled “System and process for natural language processing and reporting.” Malik said that organisations were in need for quick, usable intelligence in order to drive their business needs such as market research and customer perception. Punjab University delegation visits Iqbal mausoleum

LAHORE:10 November:A delegation of the Punjab University, under the leadership of Vice Chancellor Dr Zaffar Mueen Nasar, visited the mausoleum of Allama Iqbal and laid a floral wreath. The delegation also offered Fateha for the departed soul. First-ever vocational, technical varsity to start classes in March

LAHORE:10 November:The first technical and vocational university of Pakistan, the Punjab Tianjin University of Technology (PTUT), is being established in collaboration with China and will start operations from March 2018. This was announced at a joint press conference by Punjab School Education Minister Rana Mashhood, Punjab Industries Commerce and Investment Minister Shaikh Allaud Din and Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (TEVTA) Chairman Irfan Qaiser Sheikh at the TEVTA Secretariat on Thursday.

University of Health Sciences declares MDCAT result

LAHORE:09 november: The University of Health Sciences (UHS) declared the result of Medical and Dental Colleges Admission Test (MDCAT), 2017 on Wednesday. According to a press release issued here, a total of 48,533 candidates appeared in the test held on October 29, out of which 61.74pc scored 60 per cent and above marks, 14.38pc scored 50 to 59 per cent whereas 11.55pc candidates secured 40 to 49 per cent marks.

Punjab University Teachers Front condemned new policy of Govt

Lahore:09 november: Federation of All Pakistan Universities Academic Staff Association (FAPUASA), Punjab University Teachers Front (PUTF) and several office-bearers of PU Academic Staff Association (ASA) have condemned new policy and process initiated by the government for the appointment of vice-chancellors in public sector universities and warned the government of agitation.

Punjab University residential apartments inaugurated

LAHORE :09 november:Punjab University Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Zaffar Mueen Nasir on Wednesday inaugurated 36 newly-constructed residential apartments for teachers, administrative officers and other employees at New Campus. PU Registrar Dr Muhammad Khalid Khan, Resident Officer-I Iftikhar Ahmad Chaudhary, Resident Officer-II Malik Muhammad Zahir, Acting Chief Engineer Umair Latif and faculty members were present on the occasion.

Islamic banking workshop held at COMSATS

LAHORE:07 November: Center of Islamic Finance (CIF) at COMSATS Institute of Information Technology, in collaboration with Department of Management Sciences (CIIT-Isb) and State Bank of Pakistan, organised a two-day event capacity building workshop on Islamic finance. The opening ceremony was chaired by Faculty of Business Administration Dean Dr Prof Khalid Riza. Profound Ulma Ikram, renowned bankers, and officials of takaful companies attended this workshop.
