University of Education admission schedule

LAHORE:August 1: University of Education (UE) on Monday announced the schedule of admissions to its BS/MA/MSc, MPhil and PhD programmes. The university spokesman in a statement said the admission forms would be submitted only through online. The last date to apply for BS/MA/MSc programmes is September 20, 2017, whereas the last date to apply for MPhil and PhD programmes is August 16, 2017. The students can download the admission form from the university’s website and apply online.

Lahore:July 30:The two open days organised by the University of Engineering and Technology (UET) for prospective engineering students concluded here on Saturday. The event attracted more than 15,000 students and parents who were briefed on the university programmes, policies and life on campus. In this connection, special stalls were also set up at UET Kala Shah Kaku, Narowal and Faisalabad campuses. Teachers willing to go to ‘any extent’ against criteria change

LAHORE:23 July:Varsity teachers say they are willing to go to “any extent” to ensure that their concerns over proposals to revamp the criteria for the appointment of vice chancellors are addressed. Federation of All Pakistan Universities Academic Staff Association’s (FAPUASA) Punjab Chapter has written a letter to the chief minister and law minister, detailing their eight-point objections to the proposed criteria. University of Engineering Lahore entrance test result

Lahore:July 23:University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Lahore on Saturday announced the results of the entrance test for admission to engineering institutes of the province. A UET spokesperson said candidates who had appeared for the test could get their results by entering their roll number and CNIC number on the university’s website, news.

LAHORE:July 22: Punjab University (PU) has awarded two PhD degrees to two scholars. According to details, Hira Tariq has been awarded PhD in the subject of Mathematics after approval of her thesis entitled “Efficacious Algorithms for the Solutions of Fractional Differential Equations” and Iram Khan in the subject of Chemistry after approval of her thesis entitled “Synthesis Characterisation and Biological Activity of Complexes of Certain Lanthanide Ions with N-and O-Containing Mixed Ligands”.

International conference at Lahore College for Women University

LAHORE:July 21: The three-day international conference ‘Emerging issues in Management Sciences’ organised by Lahore College for Women University (LCWU) concluded here on Thursday with a recommendation of establishing CPEC Centre for Policy Analysis and Research at the LCWU. The conference’s focal person while announcing the final recommendations of the conference said the LCWU’s Faculty of Management and Administrative Sciences will start its research journal, “Journal of Management and Administrative Sciences.”

Chemical manufacturers,University of Engineering body meets

LAHORE:July 21: The first meeting of the committee constituted by Pakistan Chemical Manufacturers Association (PCMA) and the University of Engineering and Technology (UET) was held at UET on Thursday. Chemical Engineering Department Chairman Prof Naveed Ramzan chaired the meeting of the committee, constituted by PCMA and UET to evolve a long-term plan to conduct the research projects for benefit of the chemical sector under the industry-academia linkages programme.

Report sought from Punjab govt in VCs case

LAHORE:July 18: The Lahore High Court on Monday sought a report from the Punjab government on a petition seeking a stay order against appointment of vice-chancellors at three public sector universities. Dr Abdul Mannan filed the petition pleading that the government initiated the process for the appointment of VCs at Punjab University, King Edward Medical University and Fatima Jinnah Medical College University.
