Exhibition marks 70 years of Pakistan in , Information Technology University

LAHORE:18 august:Dr Umar Saif, vice-chancellor, Information Technology University (ITU), opened an exhibition to commemorate the 70 years of Pakistan's independence at the Arfa Software Technology Park on Thursday. The exhibition, curated by the IU’s Centre for Governance and Policy, will remain open till September 14, 2017, which covers the period from the Lahore Resolution in 1940 to Pakistan's creation and the immediate aftermath.

GC University awards PhD

Lahore:18 august: Government College University has awarded a PhD to a scholar in physics. According to a press release Jamil Ahmad Siddiquee completed his thesis on the topic of “Synthesis of Tantalum and Niobium based Nitride and Oxy Nitride Films in Plasma Environment” under the supervision of Dr Tousif Hussain and Co-Supervisor Prof Dr Riaz Ahmad.The news.

Teacher academy inaugurated at University of Education

Lahore:18 august:The first academy for the training of college and university teachers of Punjab will be inaugurated at University of Education on August 21. According to a press release, the academy has been established under a special initiative of the Punjab government to enhance the quality of education. Lahore:18 august:Punjab University (PU) students have shown outstanding performances in co-curricular activities organised by state TV to celebrate Independence Day. According to a press release, students, including Atif Shafiq and Shahzad Abbas, clinched first position with a cash prize of Rs 30,000 in state TV Azadi quiz competition at Lahore Centre while in final round in Islamabad, they got second position with cash prize of Rs 30,000.

Call to promote liberal arts education

LAHORE:August 17: “To develop critical and problem solving capabilities among the graduating students, it is high time to promote liberal arts education in Pakistan,” said Prof Dr Nizamuddin, Chairperson Punjab Higher Education Commission (PHEC) while addressing a symposium on “Liberal Arts Education: Grooming the Youth” organised in collaboration with Forman Christian College University (FCU) Lahore on the university’s campus on Wednesday.

University of Veterinary Sciences team leaves for Quetta

LAHORE:12 August:A delegation of 20 students and four faculty members of University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) on Friday left for Quetta to participate in Karwan-e-Yakjehti event being organised by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) and the Balochistan government to mark 70th Independence Day of Pakistan. Lahore college Women University week-long Independence Day celebrations

LAHORE:11th august: The Lahore College for Women University (LCWU) announced week-long Independence Day celebrations and has finalised preparations. LCWU Vice Chancellor Dr Uzma Qureshi approved the events in a meeting and asked that these functions continue with traditional fervour. The events will be celebrated from August 7 to August 12. PU, Chinese varsity agree to boost academic ties

LAHORE:09 August: The Punjab University Institute of Communication Studies (ICS) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Liaoning Communication University, China to enhance academic cooperation. The memorandum of understanding aims at promoting academic cooperation between the two educational institutions by providing internships, arranging seminars, conferences and workshops. Both the universities will invite their faculties to work on joint publications.
