Lahore:December 5:Punjab University Dean Faculty of Life Sciences and former registrar Prof Dr Muhammad Naeem Khan was awarded ‘YKSUG Visiting Professor Fellowship’ by Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno, Belarus. According to the Ministry of Education, Republic of Belarus, ‘YKSUG Visiting Professor Fellowship’ is awarded to help improve bilateral academic linkages and research collaborations between Belarusian and Pakistani universities.The news.

Appointments of VCs: ‘Finalisation of search committee around the

LAHORE:03 December:The Punjab Higher Education Department (HED) is scrutinising proposed committee members for the search committee which will vet potential candidates for vice chancellors in eight universities. The committee is to be finalised within a few days. A total of 12 names for the VC search committee had been recommended by the Punjab Higher Education Commission (PHEC) earlier in November and three to five members would constitute each of the search committee.

Private medical colleges barred from admission

LAHORE:02 December: The Lahore High Court Thursday reserved judgment on petitions challenging central admission policy of the private medical colleges and restrained the private colleges from offering admission and displaying merit lists. A division bench headed by Justice Ayesha A Malik and Justice Jawad Hassan heard the petitions moved by students and Young Doctors Association. During the proceedings, Advocate Ijaz Ahmad Awan who was representing the students submitted that the last date has been announced by the medical colleges to apply for admission.

24th Convocation: UET confers honorary PhD on Ahsan Iqbal

LAHORE:01December:The University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Lahore has conferred honorary doctoral degree on Federal Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal on Thursday at its 24th Convocation. Speaking at the convocation, the federal minister, who was also the guest of honour, thanked the university for the degree and said that it was an honour to receive it from his alma mater. He said, “I dedicate this honour to my parents and teachers”.

10,000 to get CM’s e-Rozgaar Programme training

LAHORE:November 29: Around 10,000 candidates will complete training for CM’s e-Rozgaar Programme by February 2018. Number of candidates trained depends on the capacity of lab ranging from 100 to 300 in each cycle per centre. The CM’s e-Rozgaar Programme established by the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) aims to provide training to budding freelancers to help improve their skill set and assist them in earning a sustainable income and achieve upward economic mobility.

Punjab University held written test for recruitment on various posts

Lahore:27 November: Punjab University (PU) administration held written test for recruitment on various posts at the university’s Wahdat Road Examinations Centre. According to PU Registrar Dr Muhammad Khalid Khan, more than 900 candidates appeared in the written test for the posts of assistant registrar, assistant controller, assistant treasurer and school teacher at PU Laboratory High School. Meanwhile, PU Exam Department has declared the result of BSc (Engg.) Chemical Engineering 8th Semester examination 2017. The detailed result is available at PU website www.pu.edu.pk.

University of Health Sciences Exams postponed

LAHORE:27 November: All the theory and practical examinations scheduled to be held on November 27 and 28 under the University of Health Sciences (UHS ), have been postponed. In a press release issued on Sunday, UHS spokesperson said that new schedule for the examinations would be announced later. He said that as per the direction of Punjab Specialised Health Care and Medical Education department, the classes at the university would remain suspended on Monday (today) and Tuesday (tomorrow).The news.

All educational institutions in Punjab to remain closed for next two days

LAHORE:26 November: The Punjab government on Sunday ordered all educational institutes to remain closed for the next two days owing to the law and order situation in the province. Punjab School Education Minister Rana Mashood Ahmed confirmed the development to The Express Tribune. The decision to keep schools, colleges and universities closed on November 27 and 28 was taken following protests by religious parties across the province. University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences declamation contest

LAHORE:26 November:The University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) on Saturday organised the All Pakistan Bilingual Declamation Contest. Students from various universities participated in the contest. In English debate, Rameesa Khan of Punjab University got first position, Haris Ali Virk of Government College University (GCU) Lahore got second and Qurat-ul-Ain of University of Engineering and Technology got third position.
