Two-week hands-on training in University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences

Lahore:23 August: Two-week hands-on training of faculty members and one month training of DVM fourth year students for clinical skill enhancement completed at the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS), Lahore, on Tuesday. According to a press release, the participants were from Shaheed Benazir Bhutto University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (SBBUVAS) Sakrand, Sindh. Pro Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Nasim Ahmad chaired the concluding session of the training programme and distributed certificates among the participants.

Punjab University quality control education programmes

Lahore:23 august: Punjab University (PU) and Pakistan Standards and Quality Control Authority (PSQCA) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to promote need-based standardisation and quality control education programmes and transfer of technology to the industry for industrial and socio-economic development. According to the MoU, both parties would jointly initiate market-oriented research and development projects and other activities in the area of common interest, sharing their human and material resources. They would jointly organise training workshops, seminars and workshops.

School of Health Sciences COLLABORATION with umt

Lahore:23 august:School of Health Sciences at University of Management and Technology (UMT), Lahore, on Tuesday inked a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Surraya Azim (Waqf) Hospital for future collaboration, training and practical exposure of medical students and faculty involvement in knowledge transformation. UMT Director General Abid HK Shirwani and Iftikhar Chaudhry, member of the Surraya Azim Hospital Governing Body signed the agreement.

University of Health Sciences writes to FIA to probe admission test leakage rumours

LAHORE:22 august: The University of Health Sciences (UHS) has written a application to the Cyber Crime Wing of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to probe rumours making rounds on social media that the Medical and Dental Colleges' Admission Test (MDCAT) 2017, held on Sunday, was leaked before its commencement. The university has categorically denied and condemned a malicious campaign on social media from some hidden elements and has asked the FIA to act against those spreading rumours about the paper leakage.

Lahore:22 august:The syndicate of University of Education (UOE) in its 51st meeting held on Monday approved the varsity’s annual budget of Rs1.844 billion for financial year 2017-18. The meeting was chaired by Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Rauf-i-Azam. According to budget details, a sum of Rs1.425 billion has been reserved for non-development while 418.301 million will be spent on development projects. During the meeting, the VC briefed the syndicate members about the development programmes of UOE in detail.The news.

University of Health Sciences asks FIA to probe paper leak rumours

LAHORE:22 august: University of Health Sciences (UHS) has categorically denied and condemned a malicious campaign on social media from some hidden elements with regards to the Medical & Dental Colleges’ Admission Test (MDCAT), 2017, held on Sunday, and asked Cyber Crime Wing of Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to act against those spreading rumours of paper leak. In a press release issued on Monday, UHS spokesman said the news of paper leak is baseless and it is being spread on social media to malign an institution which is known for its valid, reliable and secure systems.

University of Management signs research deal with Japanese company

LAHORE:20 august: The University of Management and Technology (UMT) and the Association for Overseas Technical Cooperation and Sustainable Partnerships (AOTS) - a Japanese company - Saturday inked a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for mutual collaboration, faculty and students' exposure, students' fellowship, internship and volunteer exchange programmes. The MOU ceremony was held at UMT campus Johar Town where UMT Director General Abid Shirwani and the AOTS Chairman Syed Nabeel Hashmi signed the deal.

Punjab University to start MBBS, BDS this year

LAHORE:August 19: Punjab University’s Academic Council has approved bachelor’s level medical programmes ie MBBS and BDS along with curriculum as taught in King Edward Medical University (KEMU) from the academic session 2017. The meeting was chaired by Punjab University Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Zafar Mueen Nasir in which PU Registrar Dr Muhammad Khalid Khan, heads of academic departments and professors participated.

Police asked to enhance security at education institutes

LAHORE:18 august: City police have been directed to beef up security arrangements at schools and other educational institutions in the provincial metropolis. The directive was issued in view of intelligence reports. Meanwhile, private schools have also been asked to ensure that standard operating procedures on security are fulfilled. Schools' administrations have said that the financial burden for additional security measures under the SOPs will have to be passed on parents.
