Rawalpindi Viqarun Nisa College Inter collegiates debate contests

Rawalpindi:February 24: The division level three Urdu debate contests under the ‘Punjab Chief Minister Competitions 2017-18’ were held at Government Viqar-un-Nisa Postgraduate College for Women, on Friday, says a press release. The objective of holding these contests was to explore the inner talents of students and boost their confidence. The principal of the host college, Professor Dr. Saira Mufti was the chief guest on the occasion.

Arid University launches supply of compost to university research farm

Rawalpindi:February 23: An inauguration ceremony of ‘Supply of Compost to University Research Farm (URF)’ was held on Thursday at Pir Mehr Ali Shah Arid Agriculture University, Rawalpindi (PMAS-AAUR). Compost is obtained from the decomposed organic material of Mehr Biogas Model which was designed by PMAS-AAUR to meet the domestic needs of biogas and electricity through biomass-bio-energy technology.

Annual prize distribution ceremony held at FG Postgraduate College

Rawalpindi:February 23: To commend the consistent efforts of students who excelled in academics and co-curricular activities during the 2017-2018, the annual prize distribution of FG Postgraduate College for Women, Kashmir Road was held in the Salma Masud Auditorium here on Thursday. HEC Quality Assurance Agency team visits Arid University

Rawalpindi:February 14:The Quality Assurance Agency (QAA) Higher Education Commission (HEC) and the committee of experts from various universities of the country visited of Pir Mehr Ali Shah Arid Agriculture University, Rawalpindi (PMAS-AAUR), here on Tuesday. The purpose of the visit was to review the PMAS-AAUR MS/M.Phil/Equivalent & Ph.D Programs’ compliance with the HEC's minimum criteria/guidelines set for these programmes.

QAU ranked among Asia’s top 100 varsities

Rawalpindi:10 February:Quaid-i-Azam University has broken into the top 100 universities of Asia while it is listed among the top 500 in the world, according to the latest rankings issued by the Times Higher Education (THE) at the 2018 Asia Universities Summit in China, local media reported on Thursday. This year, Pakistan only had one varsity in the top 500 and a total of four in the top 1,000 universities in the world.

AIOU has largest book warehouse in Asia

Rawalpindi;29 January:With a capacity of over five million books, the Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) has one of the biggest book warehouses in Asia. According to the University’s Press and Publication department, a large number of books are available in the warehouse at any given time to meet the needs of its 1.3 million students. The printing network is the one of the largest in the country, where on an average 3.5 million books are printed each semester. The varsity employs the latest printing, cutting and folding machines to handle the immense load.
