Consultative meeting on feedlot business

Lahore:July 18:A consultative meeting on “Feedlot business in Pakistan: opportunities and challenges” was held at the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) here on Sunday.

According to a press release, UVAS Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Talat Naseer Pasha chaired the inaugural session of the meeting while Secretary Livestock and Dairy Development Punjab Nasim Sadiq presided over the concluding session. Punjab Agriculture and Meat Company Chairman Mumtaz Khan Manhais, representatives from public and private sector from across country, academicians and researchers attended.

Clarification sought over online prospectus PDF

Rawalpindi:July 17:The Director Higher Education Punjab has sought explanation from the director colleges of nine divisions of the province over growing complaints regarding provision of online prospectus that according to the students are available only in inpage format instead of PDF and also not carrying important information about subjects’ combination.

A written directive, sent to the director colleges of nine divisions, asked them to give reasons why details about subjects’ combination in various disciplines are not clearly mentioned in the prospectus.

Punjab Secondary Healthcare infection control programme

Lahore:July 16: Punjab Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department is launching infection control programme in the province, and Pakistan Kidney & Liver Institute (PKLI) would extend cooperation in hepatitis control programme.

It was stated by Chief Minister's Adviser on Health Kh Salman Rafique in a meeting with PKLI Chairman Prof Saeed Akhtar on Friday.

According to a handout, Primary and Secondary Health Secretary Ali Jan Khan, Punjab Health Director General Dr Mukhtar Ahmed Syed, Prof Wasim Akram and other officers concerned also attended the meeting.

Extension in service of school security guards

Rawalpindi:July 16:The Punjab government has given extension to the service of the security guards recruited on the contractual basis in the government schools till December 31, 2016.

According to the written directives issued by Secretary of Higher Education (Punjab) Tahir Yousaf, the security guards who were inducted after rising threats to the schools would continue their job till end of this year on contractual basis.
