University of Engineering book fair from 30th

Lahore:January 28:A two-day book fair by University of Engineering and Technology (UET), Lahore, will start on January 30 at National Library of Science and Technology of the campus. Books on different subjects will be available on the stalls of renowned publishers at discounted rates. UET Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Fazal Ahmad Khalid will inaugurate the event. Punjabi language case disposed of

Lahore:January 28:The Lahore High Court chief justice on Friday disposed of a petition of Pakistan Punjabi Adabi Board against banning the use of Punjabi language on its Sahiwal campus by a famous private school. The headmaster of the school campus concerned appeared before the court and submitted an unconditional apology in writing for his action. The chief justice accepted the apology and disposed of the petition.

Lahore:January 27: Punjab University’s 125th convocation will be held on 20th of February. A high-level meeting presided over by Acting PU Vice-Chancellor was held at Committee Room of VC’s office here on Thursday to review arrangements in this regard. PU Registrar Prof Dr Liaqat Ali, Controller of Examinations Prof Dr. Shahid Munir and deans of various faculties were present on the occasion. Anti-education policies’: Schoolteachers announce strike from Feb 2

Lahore: January 26:Teachers protesting against the Punjab government’s education policies and ill treatment of school heads have announced a total ‘educational’ boycott starting from February 2. On Tuesday, the schoolteachers staged a protest demonstration outside the Punjab Civil Secretariat under the banner of United Teachers’ Council (UTC) led by a faction of the Punjab Teachers’ Union (PTU). Officials of the Punjab School Education Department (SED) negotiated with the protesting teachers but the dialogue broke down and the teachers announced their future course of action.

BZU sub-campus case LHC summons secretary of education

Lahore: January 26:The Lahore High Court has summoned the Higher Education commission chairman, secretary Higher Education department and Bahauddin Zakariya University vice chancellor in a case related to the establishment of BZU’s sub-campus. The LHC bench on Wednesday denied provincial minister Zaeem Ahmad Qadri an exemption from a personal appearance in the case regarding the legal status of the Lahore sub-campus of Bahauddin Zakariya University, Multan.

Lahore: January 26: Punjab University student of BS Environmental Sciences from the College of Earth and Environmental Sciences (CEES), Zohaib Nasir participated in Chief Minister Debate competition and clinched first position in Lahore division while second in Lahore district.
