Entrepreneurship Career Option at Beaconhouse University

Lahore:November 11:Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority (Smeda) under its move to promote entrepreneurship among educated youths, held a seminar on ‘the Entrepreneurship as a Career Option” at Beaconhouse National University (BNU).

The seminar was addressed by Khaver Zia, Dean of BNU School of Computer & IT, Dr Ahsanullah Awan, and Javed Afzal, Deputy General Manager Smeda-Outreach Division.

Punjab University awards 2 PhD Degrees

Lahore:November 11:Punjab University (PU) has awarded two PhD degrees to scholars.Mariyam Hafeez has been awarded PhD in the subject of Statistics after approval of her thesis entitled “Multivariate Order Statistics for Parametric Distributions” and Hafiz Abdul Basit Aziz in the subject of Islamic Studies after approval of his thesis entitled “Mian Nazeer Husain Dehlvi and Fiqh-ul-Hadees (A Special Study of Fatwa Nazeria)”.

Veterinary University students Given Laptops

Lahore:November 11:Under the Prime Minister’s National Youth Laptop Scheme, 668 students of University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) were given laptops here on Thursday.

The ceremony was attended by MNAs Pervaiz Malik, Shaista Pervaiz Malik, UVAS Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Talat Naseer Pasha, Higher Education Commission (HEC) Regional Director Nazir Hussain, faculty members and students from all campuses of the UVAS.

Faiz Festival to begin on 18th

Lahore:November 11: Faiz Foundation Trust is hosting the 2nd Faiz Festival from 18th of November to 20th of November at Alhmara Arts Council, The Mall.

Punjab University VC visits Iqbal Mausoleum

GCU teachers, students pay tribute to Iqbal

Lahore:November 10:A delegation of students and teachers from the alma mater of Allama Muhammad Iqbal, Government College University, Lahore, Wednesday visited the Iqbal’s mausoleum to pay homage to the great Old Ravian philosopher on his birth anniversary.

According to a press release, the delegation led by Faculty of Languages, Islamic and Oriental Learning Dean Prof Dr Iqbal Shahid and Faculty of Engineering and Technology Dean Prof Dr Raiz Ahmed offered Fateha for the soul of the great national poet and laid a floral wreath.

Iqbal Day celebrated at Viqar-un-Nisa College

Rawalpindi:09 November :The ceremony in commemoration of poet of East Allama Muhammad Iqbal was held here on Tuesday in auditorium of Govt Viqar-un-Nisa College. The ceremony started with recitation of Holy Quran.

Chief guest M Hameed Shahid, famous novelist, poet and critic was present at the occasion. Mr. Hameed is author of 20 books and many of his research articles are published in international magazines.

27 special students getting education in Kinnaird College

Lahore:November 08:Twenty-seven visually and hearing impaired students are getting education side by side with other students in Kinnaird College and enjoy all education facilities like normal students.

In Pakistan, special institutions are in service for special students education. Usually, as per the government policy, every regular and private educational institution is bound to allow admission to special students, but some institutions implement their own policy which is otherwise.

PU Law College students protest ‘unfair’ marking

Lahore:November 08: A large number of Punjab University’s Law College students staged a demonstration on Monday against what they termed unfair marking of one paper in the varsity’s LLB Part-II examination.

The demo by the students also caused a severe traffic mess on the main Canal Road and many adjacent roads for quite some time. The demonstrators said a large number of students had failed in the paper only because of unfair marking by the examiners. They demanded the government look into the issue and provide relief to them.

Billions spent to provide facilities to schools

Lahore:November 09:Provincial Minister for Education Rana Mashhood Ahmad on Tuesday said that Punjab government was taking revolutionary steps for promotion of education and funds of billions of rupees were being spent for providing facilities to the educational institutions.

The education minister expressed these views while chairing a meeting regarding education reforms held in Civil Secretariat.
