Student arrested in security forces operation in Lahore

LAHORE (APP):17 April: It turned out that the women who was arrested in security forces operation near Punjab Housing Society Lahore, has been identified as Noreen Jabbar Laghari – the second year student of MBBS in Liaquat University of Medical Science (LUMS), Jamshoro. It is pertinent here to mention that Noreen Jabbar Laghari went missing in February and was feared to have joined Islamic State militant group. It has been reported that Noreen spent two months in Syria and returned to Lahore almost six days back.

Why Punjab is failing to impart quality higher education

Lahore:16 April:A few years back, the Punjab Higher Education Department (HED) reduced the years of service required for promotion of a BS-17 lecturer to the post of assistant professor from 22 to 17. CM Punjab criticised for alleged postponement of Exams

Faisalabad:16 April:Leader of the opposition in the Provincial Assembly Mian Mehmoodur Rasheed criticised on Saturday the alleged postponement of exams in schools due to the visit of Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif to Faisalabad saying protocol to VIPs should not bar children from education. “We strongly condemn reports suggesting postponement of exams for thousands of children during the visit of Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif to Faisalabad,” Rasheed said in a statement.

Shahbaz announces Rs20 bn projects for University of Agriculture

FAISALABAD:April 16: Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif on Saturday announced Rs 20 billion development projects for the Faisalabad city. He said this while addressing the Local Government convention at the Iqbal Auditorium, University of Agriculture, Faisalabad. He announced establishment of the Information Technology and Skills University and the metro bus project in Faisalabad.
