Sports Gala held at Viqar-un-Nisa College

Rawalpindi:26 Feb: Govt. Viqar-un-Nisa Post Graduate College (W), Rawalpindi organised its Annual Sports Gala here on Monday under the patronage of Principal of the college, Prof. Dr. Saira Mufti. The competition featured numerous games and over a hundred students participated in them. The grounds were decorated with colourful banners, flags and welcoming notes. The event was inaugurated by the Principal, Prof. Dr. Saira Mufti. Balloons were released in the air and traditional enthusiasm of the students was observed.

Govt to improve private schools, says minister

LAHORE:26 Feb: Punjab Minister for Schools Education Murad Raas said a roadmap has been prepared to improve the organisational standard of small and medium-scale private educational institutions in the province so that best education could be provided to the children who mostly belong to the low-income families. He was addressing the annual prize distribution ceremony of a private school.

SSC annual exams to start on March

Rawalpindi:25 Feb: Secondary School Certificate (SSC) 2019 annual papers would be held on March 1 in accordance with the schedule announced earlier and the roll number slips of the regular students have been dispatched to the institutions concerned and all the private students. According to Rawalpindi Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (RBISE) spokesman, there would be no change in the schedule announced by the board.

Students get degrees, medals at PU,s 128th convocation

LAHORE :24 Feb: Punjab University’s 128th convocation was held at the university’s New Campus here on Saturday in which 38 PhD degrees, 373 MS/MPhil, 393 master’s, 267 undergraduate degrees and 299 medals were distributed among the graduates. As many as 75 medals were also distributed among undergraduate students, 68 medals among master’s students and 100 medals were distributed among MPhil/MS students. A total of 1,314 degrees and medals were distributed in the convocation.

Punjab Examination Commission 5th, 8th class exams abolished

LAHORE:22 Feb:The Punjab government has announced abolishing examinations of 5th and 8th classes under Punjab Examination Commission (PEC) to save children from extra burden. “The digital textbooks for four and five class have been launched and android application is also introduced which is an important step towards digital revolution in the education,” said Punjab Minister for Schools Education Murad Raas while addressing the launch of new educational policy “The New Deal 2018-23” under the aegis of Punjab Schools Education Department at a ceremony.

PU’s Hailey College of Banking organised two-day workshop

Faculty of Oriental Learning Dean Prof Dr Saleem Mazhar, Registrar Dr Muhammad Khalid Khan, Department of Punjabi Chairperson Dr Nabeela Rehman, editor in-chief Punjabi language, literature and culture journal Sardar Ajaib Singh Chattha, Punjabi University, Patiala Dean Prof Dr Jasbeer Core, Dr Naveed Shahzad and Sikh teachers and writers from Canada and India were present on the occasion.
