PU’s Hailey College of Commerce Anti-corruption Seminar

Lahore :October 01:Punjab University’s Hailey College of Commerce and National Accountability Bureau (NAB) jointly organised a seminar to create awareness against corruption at the college’s Seminar Hall on Friday.

According to a press release, Faculty of Commerce Dean Prof Dr Hasan Mobeen Alam,  NAB Deputy Director Sajid Ali, faculty members and a large number of students were present.

The speakers said corruption was one of the major problems being faced by the country. They stressed the need to fight it collectively.The news.

Child mental health plan to be launched in Schools

Rawalpindi:October 01:The ‘champion’ teachers trained by the national trainers in WHO’s Eastern Mediterranean Region (WHO EMRO) manual School Mental Health Programme (SMHP) here at the Institute of Psychiatry and WHO Collaborating Centre for Mental Health Research and Training at Benazir Bhutto Hospital would implement the programme in their respective schools of Rawalpindi district under constant supervision of the trainers.

Room of VC office to review security arrangements

Lahore:September 30: On the instructions of Punjab University Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Mujahid Kamran, a meeting was held on Thursday at committee room of the VC office to review security arrangements on September 30.

PU Registrar Prof Dr Liaqat Ali, deans of all faculties, principals of colleges, Chairman Hall Council Prof Dr Abid Hussain Ch and senior administrative officers were present. The meeting decided that PU will remain open on September 30, university buses would be operated and university employees will remain present as per routine.The news.

Endoscopic ultrasound workshop in Ameer-ud-Din Medical College

Lahore:September 30:The first three-day international endoscopic ultrasound workshop, organised by Lahore General Hospital has commenced at a local hotel on Thursday.

Post Graduate Medical Institute and Ameer-ud-Din Medical College Principal Prof Ghias-ud-Din Tayyab presided over the inaugural session of the workshop, which is scheduled to continue for three days.

Degree awarding private institutes can’t offer franchise’

Lahore:September 30:Punjab Higher Education Commission (PHEC) has made it clear that no private degree awarding institution (DAI) will be allowed to offer its franchise, affiliation or study centre and directed the DAIs across the province to annul all such affiliations and franchises, and stop current admissions immediately.

The decision was made during a meeting of the PHEC governing body on Thursday which was held to address the issues of unlawful sub-campuses, affiliations and franchises of private sector DAIs in Punjab.

Education pact: Universities ink cooperation agreement

MULTN:29 September :The Bahauddin Zakariya University of Multan and the Allama Iqbal Open University have signed a five-year cooperation agreement to enhance mutual interest and understanding.

“It is essential to define a working relationship between educational institutions to foster cooperation in the field of education and research,” BZU spokesperson Prof Dr Abdul Quddus Sohaib said at the signing ceremony held on Wednesday.

Education sector’s neglected areas identified as JESR-II ends

Lahore:September 29:Recommendations to focus on and mitigate key issues challenging the development of education sector in the province were the highlight of the second, and final, day of the Joint Education Sector Review – II (JESR-II), held by the government on Wednesday.

Focus on easing access to education, improving quality, governance, intra and inter-departmental coordination as well as cooperation with districts were a few of the most important suggestions given by experts so as to improve education in Sindh.

Lahore:September 29: Punjab University Institute of Agricultural Sciences student Farooq Ahmed participated in Global Entrepreneurship Summer School and his team won Global Entrepreneurship Summer School Award.

    According to a press release issued here on Wednesday, Ahmed was one of the 35 participants who were selected on scholarship to attend the event out of more than 1,000 applicants around the world.

Facilitating students: 100 schools to get water purifying plants

MULTAN:September 28:New water purification plants worth Rs40 million will be installed at 100 government schools in Multan, said District Coordination Officer Nadir Chattha while speaking to journalists on Tuesday.

He said the district government fulfilled its promise of provision of clean drinking water to the students and citizens by making 80 water purification plants functional.

Water purification plants would be set up in two rooms of a school building while the school principal and chairman of the union council concerned would supervise their installation.

56TH MEETING OF ACADEMIC COUNCIL

Rawalpindi:September 28: The 56th academic Council of the Pir Mehr Ali Shah Arid Agriculture University Rawalpindi (PMAS-AAUR) was held here on Tuesday under the chairmanship of Prof. Dr. Rai Niaz Ahmad, Vice Chancellor at main campus.
