Iqbal Day celebrated at Viqar-un-Nisa College

Rawalpindi:09 November :The ceremony in commemoration of poet of East Allama Muhammad Iqbal was held here on Tuesday in auditorium of Govt Viqar-un-Nisa College. The ceremony started with recitation of Holy Quran.

Chief guest M Hameed Shahid, famous novelist, poet and critic was present at the occasion. Mr. Hameed is author of 20 books and many of his research articles are published in international magazines.

27 special students getting education in Kinnaird College

Lahore:November 08:Twenty-seven visually and hearing impaired students are getting education side by side with other students in Kinnaird College and enjoy all education facilities like normal students.

In Pakistan, special institutions are in service for special students education. Usually, as per the government policy, every regular and private educational institution is bound to allow admission to special students, but some institutions implement their own policy which is otherwise.

PU Law College students protest ‘unfair’ marking

Lahore:November 08: A large number of Punjab University’s Law College students staged a demonstration on Monday against what they termed unfair marking of one paper in the varsity’s LLB Part-II examination.

The demo by the students also caused a severe traffic mess on the main Canal Road and many adjacent roads for quite some time. The demonstrators said a large number of students had failed in the paper only because of unfair marking by the examiners. They demanded the government look into the issue and provide relief to them.

Billions spent to provide facilities to schools

Lahore:November 09:Provincial Minister for Education Rana Mashhood Ahmad on Tuesday said that Punjab government was taking revolutionary steps for promotion of education and funds of billions of rupees were being spent for providing facilities to the educational institutions.

The education minister expressed these views while chairing a meeting regarding education reforms held in Civil Secretariat.

Lahore:November 09:Public and private education institutions across Punjab will remain open as per routine on November 9.

Rumours were going round about official holiday on Wednesday (today) in connection with Iqbal Day.

However, no notification in this regard was issued by the Punjab government till filing of this report. Similarly, the ongoing exams would continue as per schedule announced.

Tevta providing training to prisoners

Lahore:November 09:The Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (Tevta) is offering vocational training in 15 demand driven short courses to prisoners.

The Tevta will request the Punjab government to reduce to some extent the sentence period of the prisoners who have completed their vocational training.

Tevta Chairperson Irfan Qaiser Sheikh said this while talking to Inspector General of Prisons Mian Farooq Nazeer.

Additional classrooms project to start from South Punjab

Lahore:04 November : Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said that programme of construction of more than 10,000 additional classrooms has been evolved under “Khadim-e-Punjab Schools Programme” which will be started from Southern Punjab and implemented in phases.

    He said that due to this programme, boy and girl students would avail better educational facilities and would be motivated towards their studies due to best educational environment.

HEC to ease visa process for foreign students

Lahore:04 November: HEC to ease visa process for foreign st  : Higher Education Commission (HEC) plans to launch one-window operation with the support of authorities concerned to make visa processing easy for foreign students desirous of studying in Pakistan.

The information was shared by HEC Chairman Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed in a meeting with Ambassador of Yemen to Pakistan Mohammed Motahar Alashabi who visited Higher Education Commission on Wednesday.
