LAHORE:A LARGE number of students of the University of Education staged a demonstration outside the Governorís House here on Thursday and demanded restoration of their teacher.
The demo was organised by the Joint Action Committee (JAC) of the University of Educationís students who also went to 7-Club Road in order to record their protest.
A traffic mess on The Mall and many other adjacent roads was also witnessed for some time while police contingent also remained deployed to avoid any untoward incident.
A number of protestors were manhandled by police while some of the students were also reportedly arrested who were later released. Some protestors also alleged that policemen had baton-charged them.
The protesters, carrying banners and placards, chanted slogans against the government and demanded restoration of Dr MA Pasha who, along with his wife, was removed from the UoE on charges of incompetence. His wife Dr Shaheen Pasha was reinstated, however, Dr MA Pasha was yet to be reinstated.The news
