RAWALPINDI: Rawalpindi Division Commissioner Zahid Saeed has imposed Section 144 and banned entry of irrelevant persons within 100 yards around primary and middle school examination centres being conducted by Punjab Education Commission from February 1 and 7.
The decision was taken during a meeting was held at Commissioner’s Office on Monday and attended by DCOs of Rawalpindi, Attock, Chakwal and Jhelum, SP Headquarters Rana Shahid, Additional Commissioner Chaudhry Habibullah, Commissioner’s Office Assistant Director Ameer Abbas, EDO (Education) Qazi Zahoor Al-Haq and other officials. Commissioner Zahid Saeed directed EDO (Education) to keep a comprehensive check and balance system in place and depute Education Department officials to collect solved papers from students.
He also instructed police officers to visit examination centres time and again to ensure security arrangements. Saeed asked police to not allow any irrelevant person to enter within 100 yards around exam centres. During the meeting, the commissioner was briefed that besides monitoring and checking teams, Education Department has also got the services of different NGOs so that their members could visit examination centres and send report the situation to the government.Daily time
