Lahore: The Punjab Education Foundation (PEF) has decided to develop and launch "Geographical Information System" (GIS) for its partner schools.
This was stated by PEF Managing Director Mohyuddin Ahmad Wani while briefing a two-member Unicef delegation comprising education specialists Tariq Saeed and Muqadsa Mahreen at his office on Tuesday.
"The purpose of the project is to help identify partner schools' locations in 29 districts across Punjab. It will also be helpful in ensuring monitoring of the partner institutions," he said.
Wani said the proposed GIS project would also be helpful in identifying school-deficient areas in Punjab, besides helping identify suitable places for setting up new schools through public-private partnership.
He said the foundation had also successfully ensured student-friendly environment in schools by introducing various interventions. Dawn
