VC disposed of one Thousand Pending degrees besides signing

Bahawalpur:28 July:The Vice Chancellor, the Islamia University of Bahawalpur, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Mukhtar has said that academia should devote their energies towards research activities besides excellence in teaching. He was talking to a delegation of university faculty members called on him at university Guest House yesterday. Dr. Muhammad Mukhtar said that Ummat-e-Muslima particularly Pakistan needs more manpower and human resources focusing on research activities. The faculty members welcomed him on assuming the charge of Vice Chancellor of the University and assured full support in uplifting the academia and research activities.
Immediately upon assuming the charge on Friday, July 23, 2010, Professor Mukhtar with his administrative team visited Baghdad-ul-Jadeed campus and offered Jumma Prayer in the University Jamia Mosque. He met with Imam Masjid and advised the University administration to look into improving available facilities in the Mosque particularly provision of generator to the Mosque for coping with power shortage. Hundreds of University Employees including faculties, administration and students were pleased to greet him on his very first day after assuming the charge of Vice Chancellor. The Worthy Vice Chancellor advised students and employees to keep up with their Muslim values besides their academic pursuits.
The Vice Chancellor had a busy weekend and was briefed on various fiscal, administrative, academic and research matters by the respective departmental heads. He also disposed of several pending files besides signing over one thousand university degrees brought to him by the Controller of Examinations. Professor Mukhtar advised his office to arrange his meetings with Bahawalpur dignitaries, administration, media and heads of several organizations for seeking their advice and help in elevating educational standards of the Islamia University of Bahawalpur.
