Lahore:April 20:Punjab Higher Education Minister Begum Zakia Shahnawaz Tuesday said Pak-China friendship is deep-rooted and time tested.
She was speaking at a posters competition on the topic of Pak-China friendship arranged by Punjab Information and Culture Department and Punjab Council of the Arts at Lawrence Garden open air theater. Begum Zakia Shahnawaz said that art and culture of China is very rich and there is a need of introducing it to the Pakistani nation so that bonds of friendship between the two countries could be further strengthened. She said that cooperation between China and Pakistan in the fields of education, science, research and economy is commendable. She said that exchange of art and culture of Pakistan and China will result in highlighting the cultural heritage of both the countries.
She said that efforts are being made to introduce Pakistani people to Chinese culture and heritage. She said that Chinese art and culture contests are being arranged so that in addition to benefitting from Chinese technology and research, Pakistani youngster could also develop understanding of Chinese cultural heritage and traditions.
The minister besides awarding prizes to the position-holders in the competition also gave special prizes to 25 boy and girl students for their encouragement. Parliamentary Secretary Information and Culture Rana Muhammad Arshad, Additional Secretary Information and Culture Shahid Iqbal and others were present.The news.
