Multan Police Filed FIR Against 23 people in BUZ university violence case

MULTAN:INP: Police on Monday lodged a case against 23 suspects for brutally torturing a student at Bahauddin Zakariya University (BZU).
The security personnel launched raids at the university hostels on Punjab Governor Chaudhry Sarwar’s directives, however, no detention has been made so far.

The university administration has also issued notices to the students involved in the incident and directed them to cooperate with the police.
Strict security arrangements have been ensured in the premises of the campus to avoid any untoward incident.

BZU VC absent without leave since Aug 2 MULTAN:22 august: Serious irregularities have been found at Bahauddin Zakariya University (BZU) as Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Tahir Amin has been absent since August 2 without the approval of leave by the competent authority, BZU insiders revealed. The BZU VC also holds additional charge of the office of the Multan Women University vice-chancellor. Therefore, both major institutions have been working without a head for the last 20 days.

LHC suspends governor’s decision in Bahauddin Zakariya University case

LAHORE:May 6:The Lahore High Court on Friday suspended a decision taken by Punjab governor in capacity of chancellor regarding Lahore sub-campus of Bahauddin Zakariya University (BZU), Multan.

During hearing of a case about illegality in establishment of the BZU’s Lahore sub-campus, counsel for the sub-campus’s former chairman told a full bench that BZU syndicate had not endorsed the establishment of the Lahore sub-campus.
