Pakistan Dental Council officially announced schedule for NEB exam

LAHORE:April 17:The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PM&DC) has officially announced the schedule for NEB examination for the year 2018. The plan which was announced for the first time in the PM&DC history aimed at facilitating foreign graduates in order to save their precious time. The PM&DC NEB examination will be held under the supervision of National University of Medical Sciences (NUMS).

The vice principal of Red Crescent Medical college, Lahore arrested

Lahore:10 March:The vice principal of Red Crescent Medical college, Lahore was arrested during the visit of Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Saqib Nisar on account of having charged excess fees. Vice Principal Justice Nisar met the students on Friday at the college located in Phool Nagar, Express News reported. They conveyed how the administration had taken millions of rupees from them as fees besides other charges as donation.

PMDC starts action against colleges over admission policy

LAHORE:November 28: Pakistan Medical and Dental Council and Ministry of Health (NHRS&C) have started taking action against the colleges, which are not following the centralised admission policy 2016. According to a press release issued here Monday, PM&DC President, in a statement, said that all colleges have to submit their student registration lists before 31st of March, 2018, for the session 2017 -2018 to Pakistan Medical and Dental Council after completing the admissions as per centralised admission policy 2016; otherwise, students shall not be registered with PM&DC.

Students protest Medical and Dental College paper leak

LAHORE:24 August: A number of students staged a demonstration outside the Lahore Press Club on Wednesday to press the authorities to retake Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT) as its question paper was leaked. Carrying placards, the protesters demanded that the condition to appear in MDCAT for admission to medical and dental colleges should be withdrawn as only students of private tuition centres performed well in it because they got the question paper in advance.

LAHORE:23 may: The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) has declared more than 40 foreign medical degrees/diplomas of senior doctors “unregistered”, opening a new debate on criteria for the selection of heads of the public sector medical institutions in Punjab. The PMDC has also questioned the validity of the degrees after many of these were either found “unfamiliar” by the medical education regulatory body working on the matter or contradicted the claims by the candidates for the vice-chancellor slots in medical varsities of having Level-III qualification.
