LAHORE :12 April: The Higher Education Department (HED) Punjab has directed all nine examination boards of the province to prepare different plans for holding the remaining exams in a smooth manner. In a letter to the Chairman/Secretary Punjab Boards Committee of Chairmen (PBCC), the HED directed the Boards of Intermediate & Secondary Education (BISEs) that the normalisation of the prevailing situation was unpredictable, therefore, prepare Plan A, B and C for the post-lockdown scenario, so that once the lockdown ends the exams were conducted timely and smoothly.The news.

University of Engineering entrance test to be held online

LAHORE :12 April: For the first time in the history of University of Engineering and Technology (UET), the UET Entrance Test will be held online this year, immediately at the end of the intermediate theory examinations of second year. According to a press release, UET has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Virtual University of Pakistan to conduct the entrance test on the designated VU Campuses in Punjab.

Government College University Online viva of PhD scholar

LAHORE:11April :In the wake of coronavirus outbreak, Government College University (GCU) Lahore has arranged its first online viva of a PhD candidate of Political Science, Ms Sadia Rafiq, who completed her research on the topic related to Sunni minorities in Iran. An external examiner, Prof Dr Umbreen Javaid, the Dean, Faculty of Behavioral & Social Sciences at Punjab University Lahore, conducted the PhD viva via Skype, while another examiner, Prof Dr Ishtiaq Ahmed Chaudhry, the former Dean of Bahauddin Zakria University Multan, was present in person at the GC University campus.

Tevta launches online course

LAHORE:10 April:Technical and Vocational Training Authority (Tevta) has gone digital for the first time in its history by launching e-learning programme under the banner of Khushhal Programme Pakistan . This was stated by Tevta chairperson Ali Salman Siddique while launching E-Commerce Specialist Course (ESC) here on Thursday. As many as 500 students would be offered admission to the free online ESC with the collaboration of Paigham-e- Pakistan, an NGO, and Women Development Department.

University of Faisalabad produced bio based anti-bacterial facemasks

LAHORE:08 April:In order to combat the spread of Covid-19, Department of Textile Engineering University of Engineering and Technology’s Faisalabad Campus (UET-FSD) has produced cost and performance effective bio based anti-bacterial facemasks. These masks have been produced with specific polypropylene non-woven fabric as per the recommendation of World Health Organisation (WHO). The key properties of the facemask include air permeability, thickness, tensile strength, water repellency, tear strength and microscopic analysis as per international standards.

Lahore College University donates one-day salary to relief fund

LAHORE:08 April:All the teaching and non-teaching staff (BS-17 and above) of the Lahore College for Women University (LCWU) has donated their one-day salary to the Prime Minister Corona Relief Fund. LCWU Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Bushra Mirza presented cheque of Rs 1.5 million to Governor Ch Muhammad Sarwar for the Prime Minister Corona Relief Fund.
