Dr Ameen a written complaint to university’s V.C and university set up an inquiry committee

LAHORE :13 July: The doctors’ community has demanded a fair inquiry into a case of a female doctor, Dr Mahwish Ameen, who is facing sexual harassment by her teacher at the Punjab Medical University, Faisalabad for the last three years. Dr Ameen submitted a written complaint to the university’s vice chancellor and the university has set up an inquiry committee to deal with the matter. The committee has asked both the parties to appear before the inquiry committee next week.

Lyallpur Literature Festival remained a centre for art and literature lovers

FAISALABAD:10 June: Lyallpur Art and Literature Festival remained a centre of attraction for art and literature lovers on the fourth day at University of Agriculture Faisalabad (UAF). People in large numbers thronged the university to witness competitions being held among different varsities. The event, which will conclude on Friday (today), is organised under the banner of Senior Tutor Office, UAF on the directions of Vice-Chancellor Dr Muhammad Iqbal Zafar.

UAF launches second edition of Kisht-e-Nau

FAISALABAD:18 April: The book reading habit among the youth is declining due to excessive usage of telecommunication and changing lifestyle. The trend needs to be curtailed for a healthy society, said University of Agriculture, Faisalabad Vice Chancellor Dr Muhammad Iqbal Zafar. He was speaking at the launch ceremony of the new edition of UAF Students Magazine Kisht-e-Nau 2017-18.

LAHORE:10 April: Ajoka Theatre is organising a three-day “Azadi Theatre Festival” at Alhamra Arts Council from today (Tuesday). This is a continuation of Ajoka’s theatre events to mark the 70th anniversary of independence. Besides Ajoka’s regular performing team, young and dynamic theatre groups, including Agriculture University Faisalabad and Punjab University’s Makhotay Theatre will present their plays revolving around the theme of freedom and human dignity.

GC University ,s student’s body was discovered from a drain in Dijkot

Faisalabad:April 1:Murderers of a Government College University Faisalabad student remain at large as the police still struggle to arrest the culprits. Three days ago, a Government College University student A* was kidnapped by unidentified people in broad daylight and was killed after being subjected to sexual abuse, Express News reported. The student’s body was discovered from a drain in Dijkot while the post-mortem report confirmed the deceased was sexually abused. Faisalabad police is still unable to get hold of the culprits and the murderers are still at large.

Government College University Faisalabad to hold 8th annual convocation

FAISALABAD:03 December:Government College University Faisalabad (GCUF) will organise its 8th annual convocation at new campus on December 13. A spokesman of the university said here on Saturday that Punjab governor and GCUF chancellor would grace the occasion as chief guest, whereas GCUF vice chancellor would preside over the event for which all arraignments were being finalised.

Six awarded PhD degrees by University of Agriculture Faisalabad

FAISALABAD:03 october:At least six scholars were awarded PhD degrees by the University of Agriculture Faisalabad (UAF) on Monday. The total number of PhDs from UAF rose to 1,587. A spokesman of the university said that on the recommendations of external examiners and after fulfilling all the requirements, the UAF vice-chancellor issued directives to issue PhD degrees to six scholars who passed their final examination in 2017.

UAF restores nine expelled students after apology

FAISALABAD :02 August:At least nine students of the University of Agriculture, Faisalabad (UAF), who were expelled on charges of criticising the university administration and putting up ‘critical posts’ on social media, were allowed to continue studies after the vice-chancellor accepted their appeals. Those expelled included Sehrish Amin, Waqas Zia, Awais Shabbir, Muhammad Awais Ali Khan, Arabaz Hasan, Umar Bilal, Muhammad Isfandyar Javed, Ghulam Jelani and Zubair Iqbal. PHEC orders immediate redressal of students’ issues

LAHORE:13July:The Punjab Higher Education Commission (PHEC) has taken serious notice of protests by Indus Institute’s students in Dera Ghazi Khan and their degree affiliation issues. PHEC has directed the Indus Institute, Government College University Faisalabad and National College of Business Administration and Economics Lahore to take immediate action and address the concerns of students Separate letters have been written by PHEC to the three aforementioned institutions for immediate compliance and with an order to submit a report by July 20, 2017.
