Viqar-un-Nisa Postgraduate College Seminar on dengue fever

Rawalpindi:April 03:The Health Department, Rawalpindi, organised a seminar titled ‘Training for the master trainers regarding larvae detection and catching’ at the Government Viqar-un-Nisa Postgraduate College for Women here on Monday.
Entomologist from the Health Department, Sadia Rehman, was the resource person. Staff members from all colleges of Rawalpindi were present on the occasion. Sadia discussed the basic information about dengue fever mosquito and the factors that are responsible for the spread of the fever.
The virus of the fever is transmitted through the blood transfusion. The lifecycle of the mosquito is of two weeks. The larvae hatches in two days and by controlling the reproduction of larvae the production of mosquito can be controlled. Biological feature of Aedes mosquitoes were also discussed.Nation.
