FAISALABAD:10 September: On the direction of Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif, the University of Agriculture Faisalabad observed ‘Eradication of Dengue Larvae Day’ on Sunday.
UAF Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan supervised the campaign in which anti-larvae insecticide spray was conducted at various spots at the campus of the varsity. Talking to the experts and workers from the Department of Agricultural Entomology, the VC emphasised to monitor all water halting points developed by current continuous rains and spray anti-larvae insecticides in order to minimize the threat of larvae development in this wet weather. He urged the experts to keep themselves alert to cope with any unpleasant situation. Prof Dr Anjum Sohail, Department of Agricultural Entomology Chairman, briefed the VC regarding surveillance and awareness campaigns in order to eradicate the emerging threat of larvae development in Faisalabad district. He told that a massive anti-larvae spray move had been initiated to keep the UAF campus free from dengue hazards.The news.
