Rawalpindi:March 11:Silver Oaks School’s outstanding students, their parents and Oakian staff members gathered at Rawalpindi Art Council to celebrate true excellence and to honour and recognise students and staff members for outstanding performance in both curricular and co-curricular competitions during the academic year 2011-12.
According to a press release issued here Saturday, the event commenced with the reception, followed by awards presentation and refreshments. Students were recognized for: achieving 1st, 2nd & 3rd positions across the grade on a pan-school basis; for consistency and self-improvement; and for excelling in debates, spellathon, creative writing and photography co-curricular competitions.
In recognising that it is not possible for Silver Oaks School to stay the course of its vision — “educating and developing as our own” and mission — “developing enlightened leadership and making a difference”, without cooperation and helpful ideas from parents or without exceptional commitment by dedicated educators, both parents and teachers were celebrated. Ten parents were recognised for their partnership. Finally, staff excellence awards were given, 14 to ‘outstanding educators’; 6 to members of the team for going way beyond their call of duty and ‘making a special effort’; and 6 leaders for ‘Leading by Example’.
Principal, Nasrin Tariq, while addressing the audience said: “Parents play an important role in encouraging the drive to excel amongst their children. We look forward to a continued and successful partnership”.
Managing Director, Hassan Sattar, on the occasion said: “True excellence must be celebrated with full vigour. It not only encourages the winners to continue to stay on the path of achievement, but also spurs others to raise their level of achievement. We look forward to active participation of parents, staff, and students in this challenge of continually raising their performance bar.” The news.
