Lahore:June 13:CHIEF Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said that the Holy Quran has said that besides upholding sanctity of the Holy Quran and following its teachings, there is also a need to pay attention to its proper publication.
He said that the project of Quran Complex was vital and delay in its execution would not be tolerated. He directed the authorities that steps should be taken for checking substandard publication of the Holy Quran as well as taking action against the elements involved in its printing on poor quality paper.
He was addressing a meeting of the Punjab Quran Board in his camp office at Minar-e-Pakistan on Tuesday.
The chief minister formed a committee comprising Ulema and representatives of district administration and directed it to meet twice a month to look into the matters relating to publication of the Holy Quran, construction of Quran Complex and other issues. He said that he would also visit the project to personally monitor the pace of work. Shahbaz said the error-free printing of the Holy Quran and respect for worn out copies and pages of the Holy Quran was essential and the Punjab government would extend full cooperation to the Quran Board in this regard. Referring to his camp office and the problems of the people due to loadshedding, the CM said the rulers in air-conditioned rooms in Islamabad did not realize the hardships of the people and were engaged only in loot and plunder. He said the camp had been set up at Minar-e-Pakistan so that the masses should know that the Punjab government was standing by them. Provincial Minister for Auqaf, Haji Ehsanuddin Qureshi, Secretary Auqaf and senior officers were also present. Chairman Quran Board Allama Ghulam Muhammad Sialvi informed the meeting about the pace of Quran Complex project.
