PU scholar win prizes at National Seerat Moot

Lahore: 10 Feb: Punjab University Department of Islamic Studies faculty member Assistant Professor Dr Shahida Perveen has won first prize in article writing in national Seerat-un-Nabi (S.A.W.W) conference held at Islamabad on February 5. Two PhD scholars (old scheme) of the department also bagged first and second prizes respectively in article writing in men category in Punjab, while PhD scholar Muhammad Rafique also clinched first prize in article writing in federal and NWFP category. Moreover, Hafiz Furqan Ahmad, Muhammad Rafique and Ghulam Hussain Babar were awarded Rs 20,000/- each, who got PhD degrees from the department, in specific topics announced by the Ministry of Religious Affairs. Associate Professor Dr Muhammad Hammad Lakhvi also addressed the participants of the conference on the occasion which was greatly applauded by the audience. PU Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Mujahid Kamran has congratulated Department Chairman Prof Dr Hafiz Mahmood Akhtar, faculty members and scholars on winning prizes and said it was a pride for the varsity.
