Private schools reject online system

LAHORE:ALL Pakistan Private Schools Management Association demanded manual preparation of matriculation results while rejecting results prepared under the online system.

Addressing a press conference at Lahore Press Club here on Friday APPSMA President Adeeb Jawadani and other office-bearers said the delay in announcement of matric results was because of the online system.

They referred to news items regarding a statement by Punjab Education Boards Employees Federation (PEBEF) in which the federation had claimed that preparation of matriculation annual examination 2011 result was allegedly substandard and non-transparent and said it was feared that there might be some kind of embezzlement in the results.

“We therefore reject this result and demand from the government to revert to old manual system of marking”, they said adding “There are chances that this system may affect positions of high achievers.”

APPSMA office-bearers also criticized an IT consultant engaged by the Punjab government for online system in the examination boards and demanded his immediate removal.

They said the online system had failed completely owing to which the Punjab government should restore previous system of marking of papers.

They also warned that thousands of students would protest outside Chief Minister Secretariat in case the result remained substandard and non-transparent as hinted by the Punjab Education Boards Employees Federation. They further said APPSMA would move a court if students suffered owing to unexpected results by the boards. The news.
