Media Watch Society inaugurated at GCU

LAHORE: The Government College University (GCU), on Friday, inaugurated the Media Watch Society (MWS) with the aim of grooming the Ravians in the art of information dissemination and critical news analysis.
Established at the university level, the society will enable the students to have hands-on experience regarding latest working techniques and ideas used by leading newspapers and television channels in the country.
It plans to organise conferences, debates, seminars, training workshops and lecture sessions by renowned opinion makers. MWS will also generate internship opportunities for the GCU students by creating linkages between well-established media houses and the GCU. Musadaq Sultan, currently the GCU Public Relations Department head, has been appointed as the society’s adviser. GCU Societies Board Chairman Prof Mirza Ather Baig said that the MWS organisers would enrich the scope of co-curricular activities and would provide a platform for students to interact with professional journalists.Daily Times.
