LAHORE, July 21: The Punjab Boards Committee of Chairmen deferred on Wednesday the declaration of matriculation annual examination for 2011 results for a week allegedly due to non-compilation of results under the recently introduced computerised system.
Boards of intermediate and secondary education had earlier announced that the matriculation results would be declared on July 21, however, Dera Ghazi Khan, Bahawalpur and Rawalpindi boards could not finalise their results.
Punjab Higher Education Secretary Haseeb Athar met all eight boards’ chairmen and discussed the issues.
Talking to Dawn, Mr Athar said he had moved a summary to the chief minister for permission to declare the matriculation results in a week’s time.
It is also learnt that a final date for declaration of results will be announced by the education minister on Thursday (today).Dawn.
