Lahore: 04 Feb: Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) Lahore has announced that Dr. Mumtaz Sheikh, Assistant Professor, Department of Physics has proposed a robust digital micro-mirror based optical attenuator with excellent spectral response and repeatability. The all-digital control holds great promise for future devices. The proposal is being presented at SPIE's conference and the work will be available in Proceedings of SPIE, Volume 8254.
Dr. Tayyab Imran, Assistant Professor, Department of Physics describes the generation of white light using the so-called XFROG technique, by pumping light on the sapphire crystal, obtaining an unusually clean spectrum. The work is now published in Proceedings of SPIE, Volume 8001.
The proceedings of SPIE are the most highly cited references in patent literature and are meant for access to the latest findings in optics research.
