LUMS Asma Khalid Receives PhD Scholarship

Lahore: 04 Feb: Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) Lahore has announced that Asma Khalid, Lab Instructor, Department of Physics received a fully funded PhD studentship from the University of Melbourne. She will work on diamond based quantum devices and biosensors. Asma has contributed in various ways to the Physics Laboratory teaching and research including experiments on SQUID sensors, Brownian motion, interferometry, X-ray fluorescence, latent heat of vaporisation and several others. She also started a new direction of using X-rays for studying Lahore's heritage and was also instructor of at the advanced physics lab. Other Physics lab researchers who have been placed at prestigious institutions include, Umer Hassan: UIUC, Rafiullah: NanoGune and Rameez: University of Michigan.
