Bahawalpur: 13 Oct: Islamia University Bahawalpur has announced that Prof. Dr. Muhammad Mukhtar, Vice Chancellor, the Islamia University of Bahawalpur in his exclusive message to the participants of Second International Semiconductor Materials and Nano-Devices Conference has said that the international collaboration is essential for the development of scientific research and technology in Pakistan. Hence, IUB will continue to support and promote such scientific activities to enhance research in the field of science. He further said that the faculty and students of IUB are committed to research and scientific labs and facilities for research are being enhanced. The research culture in the university has shown immense progress and our linkages with international universities are paying dividends in the form of the expected rise in the ranking of IUB at national as well as international level.
The Vice Chancellor, GC University Lahore, Prof. Dr. Khaliq-ur-Rehman was the chief guest of the closing session. He addressed the participants and said that sequence of the International Conferences organized by the IUB speaks volume of the development being achieved in the field of Physics and the facility of the laboratories equipped with latest machinery and tools has further enhanced the credibility of the research activities being undertaken at IUB. Earlier, Dr. Muhammad Iqbal from University of Engineering and Technology, Lahore presented his research on the topic of “Plasma a Future of Controllable Energy”
It was followed by the presentation of Dr. Syed Sajjad Hussain of Solid State Center, University of the Punjab, Lahore entitled “Effects of Rare Earth Elements in Aluminum Nitride Materials”. Prof. Dr. Yasin A. Raja of University of North Carolina, Charlotte, USA presented his research paper on the topic of “Design and Fabrication of Diodes”. The topic of the research paper of Prof. Dr. Shahid A. Shaheen from Florida University, USA was “Nano Magnetic Materials”, while the last presentation was by Dr. Andrew Melton of University of North Carolina, Charlotte, USA on the topic of “Thermo-Electric Devices”. The chief organizer of the event Prof. Dr. M. Asghar Hashmi presented vote of thanks to the national and international delegates for their active participation in the conference. He also expressed his gratitude to Prof. Dr. Muhammad Mukhtar, Vice Chancellor, IUB for his special interest in making the conference a big success.
