Islamabad: 27 May: International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) and Middlesex University London have agreed to develop direct contacts in the field of postgraduate research and undergraduate studies to facilitate the students of both the universities.
This was stated by Gulzar Ahmad Khwaja, Director General (Admin Finance & Planning), IIUI, after a meeting with a delegation of Middlesex University London here on Thursday.
The members of delegation were Dr. Waqar Ahmad, Deputy Vice Chancellor for Research and Enterprise Executive, Middlesex University London; and Professor Dr. Raj Gill, Regional Director Middle East, Africa and Pakistan.
Talking to the delegation, Gulzar Ahmad Khawaja said that a comprehensive proposal should be prepared to facilitate the exchange of students especially in the field of research. The proposal was agreed by the delegates of Middlesex University and a MoU will be signed in this regard in near future.
On this occasion, Dr. Waqar Ahmad said that research students and supervisors should be more close to each other to frequently discuss and analyze the findings of their work.
During the meeting, different other proposals were also discussed which include facilitation of visa process, and if student from IIU conduct research work at Middlesex University and spent less than three years, the joint degree will be awarded and if spend more than three years then it was agreed that the degree will be awarded by Middlesex University. The financial rebates for the brilliant as well as IIU students were also discussed and highly weighted in the meeting to encourage more students towards research & developments.
Senior Faculty Members of IIUI including Dr. Rauf A Sheikh, Chairman, Graduate and Undergraduate Studies, Faculty of Management Sciences,; Dr. Asad Zaman, Dean, International Institute of Islamic Economics; and Dr. Muhammad Sher, Chairman, Department of Computer Sciences, were also present on the occasion.
