NOWSHERA:April 20: Laying the foundation stone of the over Rs209 million college named after his Shaheed son Main Rashid Hussein, Information Minister Mian Iftikhar Hussein claimed that ANP was emerging as the most popular political party in the province.
He was speaking on Thursday in Akberpura where the college will be built on an area spread over 41 Kanals and scheduled to be completed by June, 2015.
In another instance Mian Iftikhar Hussain welcomed the joining of Malik Mushtaq and his colleagues in ANP.
Malik Mushtaq along with his friends Ismail Khan, Tufail Khan, Amanullah, Tariq Khan, Shaukat Hayat and Iftikhar Khan, their families and supporters made the announcement of joining ANP in an event arranged for the purpose. Mian Iftikhar welcomed the newcomers to the party and applauded their decision to join the caravan of Bacha Khan. He opined that the support of the people reflected their confidence in the leadership of Asfandyar Wali Khan and the provincial government.
Mian Iftikhar went on to say that if it wasn't for the ANP government, the situation would be different and terrorists would have taken over the whole country. He claimed that the party stood for the solidarity of Pakistan, glaring examples of which were the 550 party workers who had embraced martyrdom in the fight against terrorism. Announcing special funds for Baloo Union Council, he said equal funds have been given to all union councils in his constituency during the past four years. He said that uplift work was not done in Baloo Union Council in spite of the allocation of funds and vowed to investigate and punish those responsible.
