LAHORE, Aug 28: The Government College University has revived two-year masters in political science to provide an opportunity of education to students who have two-year bachelor’s degrees.
The GCU Syndicate and the Academic Council have approved the masters programme.
Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Khaleequr Rahman said this had been the first masters programme revived by the GCU since MA/MSc had been replaced by the BA/BSc (Honours) programme in 2007.
“The masters programme has been launched keeping in view educational responsibilities towards nation, market demand and the dearth of opportunities regarding quality higher education for students with two-year bachelor’s degrees,” he said.
The vice chancellor also announced launching of more such masters programmes in near future.
The GCU political science department chairman said the admissions to MA political science evening programme would open this week and all necessary arrangements and planning had been completed. He said the HEC French ‘Need based Scholarship’ offered by the French Embassy was available for MA political science programme.
CLASSES: The classes at the GCU will resume from Sept 10 after summer break.
EXTENDED: The Punjab University has extended BA/BSc supplementary examinations for 2012 admission form submission date from Aug 27 to Aug 31. Now, the students can submit their admission forms till Aug 31 with single fee.Dawn.
